2. Thank Mr. Haniyeh for his 'concern.'
David ,   Hartford USA   (08.06.14)
"We won! We won!" Haniyeh is such an asshole. (only word that fits him) I imagine the Gazans will 'thank' him in person- and that will be the last we ever hear of the dirtbag. The entire Hamas leadership MUST be arrested and brought to justice- for attacking Israel and for abusing the people of Gaza.
3. they should blame the savage murderers who rule them
CJK   (08.06.14)
the savage murderers used them as human shields and have admitted doing so. furthermore, they should be grateful that israel is a civilized country and tries all she can to spare civilian lives.
4. My heart bleeds . .
Ralph ,   Ekatahuna NZ   (08.06.14)
Oh gosh . . You can blame the Hamas naughty boys for that.
5. Start a war with someone stronger, suffer the consequences
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (08.06.14)
Israel kept warning them: Don't test our patience. Stop attacking or we'll be forced to respond. Well, they provoked the tiger and got their face slashed. No sympathy from me. I say let Qatar and Turkey pay for the reconstruction, though I fear Obama will try to kick in US taxpayer money. I hope the Congress says no.
6. While their leaders sit in the lap of luxury

Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (08.06.14)
You voted for Hamas, you support Hamas, you did not protest Hamas, you got what you deserved. My tears go to the boys of the IDF who gave their lives and bodies to spare me of that very destruction that you brought upon yourselves.

9. Years or decades?
DANIELA ,   panama   (08.06.14)
The time to rebuild Gaza we be related to the building materials that enter Gaza and will be stolen by Hamas to keep building tunnels. Regarding to drinking water and electricity I suggest the Gaza population to go to the bunkers Hamas leaders have been hidding. For sure they must have enough water and electricity, and lots of arrogance to say that they have fought and won. The only thing they won was destruction. The reconstruction of Gaza should be educating not to kill, not to hate, not to think about tunnels and missiles but about developing, educating, working and living in peace.
10. The Red Cross is an enemy of the Jewish people
Jhan   (08.06.14)
We all know what they did in WW II, they're still the same - antisemitic killers.
11. really all the cement and they didn't make 1 powerplant?

12. Why bother?
steve from raleigh   (08.06.14)
They never rebuild anything. They pour everything into weapons and killing Jews.

14. Rebuild
LJH ,   Canada   (08.06.14)
Let them use whats left of their rockets and tunnels to rebuild their infrastructure. If they had used those resources for peace in the first place, they would still be standing.
15. Other than the children...
Jake Stone ,   USA   (08.06.14)
...I don't feel sorry, at all, for these fake-Palestinians! They started it...and, Israel WILL finish it! All these Arabs will, eventually, get wiped-out by Israel--guaranteed! God bless Israel!!!
16. don't bother
(08.06.14)
Israel will just be back in a few month. 2 years tops.
17. Give Hamas Options
Bob   (08.06.14)
In the negotiations if they want an airport and so forth they have to accept one of these options: 1) Hamas recognizes Israel and their police need to have a direct line of communication with the Israeli army. 2) PLO forces are fully deployed in Gaza and those PLO forces need to have a line of communication with the Israeli Army. 3) Egyptian forces are fully deployed in Gaza and those Egyptian forces need to have a line of communication with the Israeli army. 4) European forces are fully deployed in Gaza and those European forces need to have a line of communication with the Israeli army. 5) Jordanian forces are fully deployed in Gaza and those Jordanian forces need to have a line of communication with the Israeli army. So the moral of the story, if the security on the ground can not establish a direct line of communication with Israel, then it's highly likely that the Gaza war will be repeated again and again and again because terror groups are using Gaza as a staging ground to attack Israel. Who knows when brain washed Iraqis, Syrians, Saudis decide to risk it all go to Egypt get into Gaza through a tunnel and join ISIS Gaza.
18. gaza raized
jo moor   (08.06.14)
Well the whole "knowledgable" world says the area is occupied. They bare correct: Israel is occupied in creating a better world for themselves and the rest of the world (electronics, medical, agriculture, culture etc) and Gaza is occupied in destructive practice (rockets, tunnels, bombs, killing offenders, rape, suicide bombers etc). Lets see if gaza has the inner strength and will power to re-direct their energies.
19. Sara - it is called 'potable' water
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (08.06.14)
Guess Red Cross and UN are also not educated.
20. Lets not forget
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (08.06.14)
It took years for Gaza to recover from Hamas last reckless escapade Then they proceeded to destroy it all again That's why its imperative that Red Cross and Oxfam demand a full and permanent cessation of hostilities before they can embark on full scale rebuilding in Gaza Oxfam in its recent ads has made this point succinctly..Apolitical in its stance it makes clear that meaningful long term aid has to be predicated on a proper sustainable agreement for Oxfam to invest the large scale funds of its millions of donors necessary to make a difference
21. Don't bother fixing it.
Ezra ,   USA   (08.06.14)
Israel will be at war with Hamas again soon. Don't bother rebuilding it. The place will get trashed again. The gentiles will only try to weaken Israel to create a balance, and Hamas will become embolden to attack again; the war will start again. Leave Hamas alive and they will be like bees in our eyes. Destroy them and we'll have peace in our land. Kerry is slow poison.
22. Let's hope it takes for ages!

Alan ,   SA   (08.06.14)
24. It will take longer than years to rebuild
Steve ,   Rishon Israel   (08.06.14)
With Hamas stealing all the cement for its tunnels its going to take more than just a few years to rebuild.
25. Gaza should not be rebuilt - it should be razed & bulldozed
Ozraeli ,   Australia   (08.06.14)
Gaza should not be rebuilt, certainly not in its current configuration. Gaza is an anomaly - it has no reason for independent existence, whether as a port, regional agricultural centre, or anything else. It has no natural resources, & is a tiny, narrow, 365 km/2 strip/enclave which developed as a result of it being the furthest north the Egyptian Army advanced in 1948. It is ~50% semi arable; the rest is refugee camps, villages, sand, and brackish mangrove swamps. It had a population of 25,000 in 1948 (after the War of Independence, including Arab refugees & ~6000 internally expelled dissidents from Egypt, mainly Alexandria). It had a ~9000 permanent population before that. The population has exploded because instead of moving on with life, UNWRA supports the world's greatest "Welfare Queens & Professional Victims"; they regularly whelp out brainwashed little suicide bombers like litters of mice, at no cost to themselves. The Strip needs to be divided between Egypt & Israel, & the border redrawn; say, either just North or South of Rafah, or even near Dir Al Balah. The majority of its population can be relocated Southwest to Northern Sinai. Relocation is easy, to the same locale & culture; & relatively cheap. The division of population will relieve political pressures enormously; & BTW, what is the difference between a North Rafah "Palestinian" & South Rafah "Egyptian"? Gaza is a hot, filthy, fetid, sullen, fly ridden s__thole, & has been so for thousands of years, just over the horizon from Ashkelon. There is a reason Huxley wrote "Eyeless in Gaza", & the story of Samson's tragedy was set there. Think current day Detroit or South LA on sand & steroids. Even Sadat didn't want it, & Begin was naive in accepting it. Even with all the modern development, it is the outpost where fringe dwellers & exiles live before the real Sinai Desert, & a land bridge where invaders usually got stopped when attempting invasion from Northern Africa. Even El Arish (further Southwest) has more highly developed agriculture, due to Wadi El Arish draining into the Mediterranean, & other local fishing villages were ports for boats landing for the pilgrimage to Mecca across Sinai. Gaza City is a cancerous tumour attached to the Southern environs of Israel, infecting everything around it.. Raze it to the ground - bulldoze it, eradicate the ant's nest of tunnels, & move the border at least 20-30 kms southwest. EVERYONE will win, including the Fakestinians.
