1. The next round
Ron ,   oc us   (08.07.14)
The next round which may come as early as Friday Israel can empty its prisons into Gaza, cut ALL supplies and find cheap rockets to lob into Gaza. Since even CNN showed video of hamas launching rockets from populated areas, Israel can respond accordingly and fire at the source with limited political retribution.
2. Genius, you forgot the sixth item!
Avi ,   NYC, USA   (08.07.14)
How about thinking of finally making peace with our neighbors/victims? The junk yard of history is full of superb armies, far better than the IDF, who invested time, effort and money to solve their operational problems, only to be defeated by an inferior force due to...chance.
3. @ MOHAMAD ALI OF FB
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (08.07.14)
If our cause were not from our hearts, then Israel would not exist through so many wars. If you want peace then act like a civilized nation and then you will get your peace. Israel can crush HAM ASS if she wants to, but many many more children will de since your brothers are too scared to fight man to man. They fight form behind the line and with rockets while IDF fights in the front to protect the population. Gaza belonged to Egypt and it should go back to Egypt. That is how peace is achieved, but your radical dudes do not want that since they know that they have to give up power to Egypt. It is sad that kids are getting killed, but Israeli kids are in the same danger, but more protected. Think about these facts before you listen to you Imam preach jihad next time you go to get brainwashed.
4. Jews
john ,   toronto   (08.07.14)
If the Jewish people will not offer services and take control of the Temple mount. They will not live in homes , because it will be destroyed. Why the rest of the world deserves to live in home, while their homes will be destroyed. Their leaders will not allow them to live in homes.
5. Booby Trapped house
Zechariah   (08.07.14)
Having twenty soldiers in a booby Trapped House to Destroy a Tunnel from the house .Likely such a house with tunnel exit would be boobitrapped .Caused seven deaths fourteen wounded when walls collapsed .Need Portable housed shelters and Deep Fox holes .Cranes need anti missile Protection.Less settlements more military equipment .Tax Bennett of Beit Hayehudi.
6. Gen Sharon
Eliyahu ,   nyc   (08.07.14)
3 under used tactics: Surprise, Deception and Attack and counter attack, this was what gave Gen Sharon 3 incredible victories, why deviate from this. Never draw it out and leave troops unprotected, learn from First Lebanon War. Many lessons there, gain counsel from anyone who was there.
7. I wondered also - I Quote -
Arn. ,   Sweden.   (08.07.14)
the question is why security and military officials, in the weeks that preceded the operation, repeatedly stressed Hamas' terrible plight and its desire to avoid escalation with Israel. If Israel had been prepared for a battle against the organization, why didn't the Cabinet and the IDF choose to be the ones to initiate it, as in Operation Pillar of Defense? This hesitancy not only helped Hamas officials, including senior commanders of divisions to hide in a timely manner and thus prevent Israel from eliminating terrorist leaders, but also allowed Hamas' advance troops to better prepare for the IDF maneuver, that started with few clashes in the first two days, but as the days went by became more and more dangerous for IDF soldiers, with more booby-trapped houses, anti-tank missiles and sniper squads. Hamas moved from a routine to an emergency situation relatively quickly and effectively. Comment - I think the fault is with the Politicians leading the Wardecissions. You cant drag your feet in a War, you lose the initiative to the enemy. Arn.Sweden.
8. I'd step up the thinking on all these items as
barbara ,   Haifa Israel   (08.07.14)
ceasefire ends Friday 8 AM - the rockets are going to start off again - unless some concessions are made on both sides and Hamas agrees to more hours of ceasefire.
