About using a hammer to kill an insect: In 1974 Turkey attacked Cyprus. At that time Cyprus did not have a big military, compared to Turkey it was miniscule. Greece was too far from the island to help. Turkey used half of her navy and all of her air force to attack against the guerrilla army of Nikos Sampson.

It was not one but 3 ships that the Turkish AF bombed. Kocatepe Adatepe and Msh Fevzi Cakmak. Kocatepe sank. The Turkish marines that were spread into the Mediterranean sea were rescued by a small Israeli training ship and her captain Reuven Pinhasi.
These Turks like Sipahi don't even remember all the support that they received for Cyprus by Israel. In Turkish language they are called NANKOR.
