In israel it should lead to new elections (with hopefully a government with vision and road to peace) .In gaza and PA elections too ?or a popular uprising against hamas?

In general Arabs cannot get along with other races and tolerate other religions. Lock in such a position with Israel they will surely cause pain and inflict violence on the Jews. If the Jews accept a few murders and killing from the Arabs (Hamas calling it own members xyz or splinter Islamic group) they would want more and more blood which will come back to square one,Israel must bomb them again! Why not the world and the M/E countries make a package and swap land that will eventually Arabs have their own land like Jordan since they dislike the Jews so much? Pakistan, Bangladesh, Kosovo, Timor, Singapore, Crimea......and Cyprus even illegally invaded by Turkey in 1974. Excuse me, but you need to get your facts straight. 1. Israel withdrew from Gaza completely. 2. That's about when you thugs starting firing missiles and mortars into Israel on a full-time basis. Did you expect Israel not to retaliate? That's what sovereign states do, you know -- protect and defend their citizens. 3. Hamas is very much a presence in the West Bank. They were responsible for the kidnapping and brutal murder of three Jewish boys. When you people renounce terror and learn to accept that your plight is the result of your extremely bad decision-making, then perhaps there will be an end to your endless violence. But Israelis are losing patience with you. You don't want to run the string too long. You will never defeat Israel militarily; time for you to accept your fate and move on.

Every free and democratic society -- and even unfree and undemocratic societies -- have elections every four or five years -- except for Gaza and the PA. Let Gazans demand of the UN, the EU, the USA, the Arab League the human right to elect your own govt. Hamas failed in its duty of care for Gazan civilians. Israel spent millions on bomb shelters. Gazans voted for Hamas, nobody else gave them a ray of hope. I don't think they care about food, water etc they want to reclaim their dignity. To get rid of Hamas, the PA needs to give the Gazans a ray of hope, a chance to reclaim their dignity lost so many years ago.

We see Hamas, Jihad, alQaeda, ISIS, Hezbollah, Taliban and other Islamist groups taking over areas of the Islamic world, denying people human rights, turning away from the more tolerant side of Islam. If Gazans want peace they should be demanding free and democratic elections that are about 5 years overdue.

Bassem Eid is right on the money. Get rid of Hamas who offer false hope while wasting resources on war. If Palestinians agree to disarm and make peace Israel will be assured that another war will not be coming and therefore crossings will be opened and restrictions gone. Use the peoples resources instead to rebuild and improve life, not make war that will kill thousands and leave mass destruction which is inevitable at present. Hamas is not concerned about how many of their people are killed in these wars or how much destruction is done. They just want the peoples money to keep themselves in power. This fact is evident from their firing rockets from civilian areas, putting command centers/ storing rockets in hospitals and near public buildings.
