1. Decision
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (08.20.14)
Israel must truly understand, and I believe it does the consequences of entering Gaza militarily. Gaza will become Israel's Vietnam. It will take more than a few weeks to get results. It will take years and many casualties. Eventually Israel will withdraw.
2. Unconditional Surrender Nothing Less!
Bill ,   Skokie U.S.A.   (08.20.14)
Why is Israel fooling around? This is a no brainer. Israel must do all that is necessary to bring about the Unconditional surrender of Hamas. only then will Gaza have a future! All these plans about reconstruction, a airport and seaport were all given before only to be destroyed when Hamas decided it wanted a glass of milk to go along with the cookie.
3. The unsoken. it doesn't matter how many
jewish solution   (08.20.14)
Arabs are slaughtered.
4. Actually Missile War is the best
Alex   (08.20.14)
The Missile War option is the best option for Israel. Israel loses almost 0 citizens because of Iron dome, and Hamas loses people because of the air strikes, this should continue till Hamas raises the white flag. Israel is not losing anything in the meantime, except some tourism money this summer, but that can easily be compensated.
5. Facebook should clean house and throw out the trash,
A ,   Belgium   (08.21.14)
white trash from Silver Bay, Minn. in particular.
6. bating Israel
dan ,   DC USA   (08.20.14)
Hamas seems to be intent on baiting Israel into invading Gaza. Whether this is from stupidity or not, the reoccupation of Gaza is a bad idea. If Israel can take care of this without setting foot back in Gaza, that is best . Even better would be PA or Egyptian control. Even some Arabs are now calling for Egypt to retake the strip to "protect" Palestinians. If this can become mainstream, it could be a complete solution. Egypt can have Gaza and whatever benefits that brings (they do have some gas offshore). Israel should pay Egypt billions to do so.
7. Again and again-again-again
P. Henry ,   Longmont colorado   (08.21.14)
Whatever happened to ("never again") bibbi is just another mealy-mouth ,word warrior tin horn politician. God help you ISRAEL !
8. Non publishing & censorship of legitimate, reasonable TB's
Ozraeli ,   Australia   (08.21.14)
A big story, rife with policy implications by Ron Ben Yishai, yet after 2 days, only 2 comments have been published. I know that mine has not passed YNet's idiotic, childish "If you don't agree with our editorial policy, we won't publish you" policy. No matter that intelligent comments stimulate thought & discussion. No matter that Hebrew comments are almost unbridled & very similar to the most right wing comments in English. No matter that many Israelis write in English to defend Israel & present its side to foreigners. No matter that a wide range of comments brings more readers. I know that YNet regularly changes its Talkback editors, usually to the most junior & inexperienced, "ideologically pure", naive children - to its own, & Israel's detriment. Ya'alah - what self destructive fools.
9. never mind diplomatic channels
marv   (08.20.14)
israelis have to decide to finish hamas once and for all, no negotiations no nothing and no other calculations. It can be done with the right general leading it and yaalon acting like his old self and not some clone of bibi and barak-gave a blow and caution which is bullshit. its either israel or hamas- there is no compromise. Bibi should step down for the good of the country as he is unfit to lead very similar to olmert.
10. Total Israeli victory over "Palestinians". Period.
Chaim ,   Israel   (08.20.14)
The only real solution for Israel is total victory over "Palestinians". Just as the WW II Allies secured permanent peace with total victory over the Nazis and Japanese.
11. Another suggestion
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (08.20.14)
How about a 30 days ceasefire during which there are internationally supervised PA and 'Presidential' elections? That'll be an opportunity for the Gazans to have their say, something they haven't had for too long. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
12. War on Terror
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (08.20.14)
If there has been a Hamas plot to overthrow the PA and to organise widespread terror attacks in the West Bank, shouldn't Hamas leaders be arrested?
13. Israel's War - Leave US OUT
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (08.21.14)
There should be zero US involvement in any phase of what happens with or to Gaza. No joint US anything at the UN or helping to rebuild or govern or anything else. Make your own deal with he world. but leave the US entirely our of the picture. You broke it, you fix it. What Israel does is Israel's decision and responsibility.
14. To Chaim, Israel (08.20.14), at nr. 10.
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (08.22.14)
Completely right.
15. to 6
hania ,   jerusalem   (08.22.14)
in that case mainly -- security can not be money changer . iam sure of that
16. Entering Gaza
Steve Gure ,   Coconut Creek USA   (08.22.14)
Israel has no choise. It has to entyer Gaza and eliminate Hamas. It does not have to stay.
