An excellent article, but what you have missed is that The Independent can hardly be described as a successful mainstream paper. If it was not for it's Russian moneyed owner it would not survive with a tiny circulation. Likewise the Guardian, known for its hysterical attitude towards Israel. It only survived the recession and a major financial crisis by selling other assets. By far the vast majority of UK national papers with large readerships take a much more sympathetic and even supportive view of Israel.

Just to put it in perspective, The Independent is comparable to Haaretz in having a small readership and being way out in Left field. London produces about a dozen daily papers, of which The Times and The Telegraph are most representative of mainstream educated Brits. The real disappointment with British media is the BBC, who refuse to release their own 'Beilin Report' into BBC coverage of the Middle East.

Another example of unethical media in Britain is SKY NEWS which almost always has a quote from the Independent and someone from it to present to the world the "world view" Some nasty stuff going on at SKY NEWS which ironically is a "sister station" of FOX News especially nasty Sky morning program "Sunrise" with Stephen Dixon or Holmes they have guested viciously anti Israeli Jews from the Independent to defend their blatantly Anti Semitism.
