Any initiative by Abbas to bypass 2-state negotiations [which he himself has repeatedly undermined and sabotaged] or replace UNSC242 as the only operative UN resolution, will result in: 1] independent Palestinian State coming off the table for good, 2] Israel renouncing Oslo, 3] IDF ordered to hunt down and arrest or kill the PA-PLO leadership as a terrorist organization, not different from Hamas, 4] IDF forceable dismantling of PA, 5] Israeli renunciation of all Israeli water, electricity , power and border crossing/airport sharing, harbor sharing deals with PA, with permanent closure of the WB, 6] nothing more than self-rule autonomy to be offered to WB arabs on that land not annexed by Israel, which will be 60-75% of the total, 7] total destruction of Gaza unless Hamas agrees to unconditional surrender and demilitarization under Israeli military rule for 50 years. As for UN or EU actions, not to worry - they lack the means, the will and the balls to enforce anything. Obama will trigger immediate impeachment proceedings in Congress if he sides with Abbas on any attempt to dilute UNSC242.
