1. The "absorption threshold"
Michael ,   California, USA   (08.26.14)
He expertly says: "absorption threshold" of Hamas ... is far higher than what the citizens of Israel have to endure." Worse yet for Israel, American Jews and others in America hardly have anything left to sustain their own absorption threshold. So, who do you think is winning this ridiculous war? Netanyahu knows.
2. A limited military incursion in Gaza might set Hamas thinkig
(08.26.14)
Leaving rocket launchers un dealt with remains a existential problem for the future. How to secure the South reliably from short distance fire will dictate the viability of communities in the South.
3. terms of endearment
EF Barasch ,   Sacramento USA   (08.26.14)
You can have peace on terms that benefit Israel or on terms that will eventually lead to the liquidation of Israel. Hamas has found a way to neutralize the IDF: tunnels. Either the IDF shows that it won't be neutralized, or the path to the liquidation of Israel is wide open. There is no choice if Israel is to endure. The IDF must go into Gaza and yank out every tunnel and every missile and every Hamasnik in those tunnels. Accepting the existence of tunnels under Gaza full of missiles and work shops to build those missiles is something that cannot be tolerated.
4. Gazans need Refuge in Turkey Qatar
Zivron   (08.26.14)
The responsibility is on Relatively Stable Islamic lands to take in Gazans civilians and oil Profits used to get them jobs and housing. For the Jews there has to be compensation for the Genocide British Islamic Policy from 1939.
5. I think we should send some food
Avi L.   (08.26.14)
I think we should send some food giving some carrot while using the stick. To show the Gazawi that we are not their enemies but Hamas' enemies, to show them that despite the jihad propaganda we can live in peace, and they can see their children go to school, learn something instead of learning to be shaids.
6. Hamas will not be able to show
Avi L.   (08.26.14)
Hamas will not be able to show much and pretend victory in maybe a two or three weeks (my guess reading newspapapers). They are at the end of their resources, Hamas and Islamic Jihad are calling (desperately?) for a truce which will enable them to say they won, once more, and what counts most in this war against jihad are the hearts and mind of the common people, the one who vote (when they can) and "join the caravan" of the jihad. Giving in, for any reason, will just be giving the oportunity to the jihad party - to shout victory on all the channels, - to show the Gazawis that their suffering, once more, brought the "yahoud" to the negociation table - to show that "jihad is the way" Giving in now will bring back all this again in what? Five Years? Once more? Who wants this again?
