1. ISIS poses no threat to Israel
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (09.03.14)
Agreed. But that is not the same as Israel posing a threat -- a significant threat -- to ISIS. They killed one of ours. Obama is far too busy on the back nine to worry about Mr. Sotloff, z"l. Israel must send a stark and very clear message -- Jews are off limits. Spill Jewish blood very much to your peril. A few squadrons should send the message, loud and clear. It is something we really need to do.
2. The USA's southern border is open to everyone.
David ,   Hartford USA   (09.03.14)
A few more men and women crossing the border won't be noticed- until the guns and weapons they bring in are used on Americans. THAT'S why Obama should be making a secure southern border his primary action- but he won't. He wants thousands of illegals to enter the country and destroy the fabric of our social services. You can bet that Hamas and ISIS creeps have already walked into the USA. Thank you Mr. President for taking your official duties so seriously. 9/11 is only a few days away. I can hardly wait to see what the Islamopaths have planned for us.
3. And what about our very own government
Bruno ,   Haifa   (09.03.14)
which continues to do everything possible to prevent a future solution with the Palestinians. I am less safe as an Israeli, and as a Jews, both in Israel and outside it, after the latest fighting. And also less likely to see peace in this region in the foreseeable future, as our government never misses an opportunity to seize more and more Palestinian land in the West Bank.
4. ISIS is no existential threat to Israel ... YET
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.03.14)
How naive can people be? Do you really think they'll end with Iraq and Syria when their followers live all over Europe and even in the US?
5. General Panic
ky   (09.03.14)
is an old fool and should have retired from the military long ago. Seriously though, by reporting that these idiots are causing alarm and fear in Israel you are doing half the job for them . In what way are they different from any other terrorist? who will do the same if they are given half a chance. . Their is one truth in how they should be dealt with and that is to kill them by any means before they can kill you. There are no easy or clever solutions just to remove them one by one until there are none left. It is what happened to the early Anarchists and NIhilists who planted bombs in Pre revolutionary Russia. Read the secret agent by Joseph Conrad.
6. Maybe
Claude ,   UK and Cape Town   (09.03.14)
The rise of ISIS , their threat to entire ME and Europe has not gone unnoticed by the mainstream media and I predict that whatever PR victory HAMAS may have thought it achieved by its media images encouraging demos and anti IL rhetoric will quickly disappear. Now much of the West, and many other regions threatened by Islamic butchery will see Israels fight against HAMAS as their own fight against ISIS and it's allies. From Nigeria, to Kenya to Thailand The Phillippines and China it's the same fight and Hamas will be viewed as just another branch of ISIS
7. That's right. They are not firing rockets from Gaza
Yosef Lopez ,   Fort Lauderdale   (09.03.14)
Oh wait they did. They also have an operative killed during the operation in Gaza. yes who cares they are far away... From Tel Aviv. ..
8. Disagree
Ephraim ,   Jerusalem   (09.04.14)
I don't see how he dismisses the facts that they control large areas, and also confiscated missiles and planes.
9. I recall another 'expert' in 1973...
David ,   Hartford USA   (09.04.14)
Zeira, who repeatedly assured us that the Arabs were not going to attack- even though he could see their preparations on their side of the canal! Listening to that 'military intelligence expert' cost the lives of thousands of Israeli soldiers. NEVER AGAIN! Be prepared. Be PROACTIVE. If ISIS is in the neighborhood, make their lives miserable (and short.) NO MORE ZEIRAS!
10. ISIS is an existential threat
Brod ,   USA   (09.04.14)
ISIS is an existential threat not just to Israel but the world. Islam's goal is to dominate the world. Their modus operandi is demonstrated by ISIS.
11. Others will abate ISIS. You lower the cottage cheese price.
Michael ,   California, USA   (09.05.14)
12. ISIS is global jihad as much as Hamas Hezballah
Avi L.   (09.06.14)
ISIS is global jihad as much as Hamas, Hezballah, Boko Haram etc. The victories of one reflects in the will of the others to fight and bring the fight to the koufars, to the far enemy and to the near enemy. The defeat of one of them makes the potential new recruits consider a bit whether or not to enter jihad, it take away the shinning aura of the invincibility of jihad. Until we keep considering only the brand label we see separate entities, when we see the product "jihad fi sabillilah"/"itbakh al yahud" we see the unity of the threat. For us, what is the difference between ISIS, Al Nusra, Islamic Jihad? Would not they kill all of us if they only could? And what if tomorrow some of the troops of Hamas or Islamic Jihad join ISIS-khalifah (despite their boss' allegiance or making friend with Hezballah-Teheran)? Or maybe Hamas switches once more allegiance as it did already from Saudi, to Teheran, to Qatar and join the caravan of the khalifah (Qatar sponsored)?
