1. ISIS created by the USA in 2007
Jhan   (09.06.14)
And heavily supported and armed since then. The rest is just journo-shmourno propaganda to get you all riled up.
2. Sometimes total victory is the only option
Dan   (09.06.14)
As with Nazi Germany and Fascist Japan, the only way to stamp out a determinedly aggressive ideology infecting the minds of a whole nation, not because of one leader but as a result of years of cultural or educational indoctrination, is to utterly defeat the regime, replace with a decent one, take control of the population and bring them to sanity over the course of a generation. The only solution in Syria and Iraq is to send in a massive army (NATO and all the others threatened by IS), take the area and keep it for the foreseeable future while changing local values.
3. there is no hate of evil............
Calibi ,   Sydney Aust   (09.06.14)
He is pro evil and do not hate evil but try to please the world with confusion. He is waiting for the Arabs to revolt against Isis....like the Egyptians toppled Morsi.he is a joke and the world could not read it.
4. To be or not to be?
Stephen in New York   (09.06.14)
That is the question.
5. Strategy Evolving for Syria
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (09.06.14)
It is a shame that Right Wingers have such short attentions spans that they cannot read entire statements. Obama was talking about a strategy for in Syria. That strategy is evolving. The Bush-McCain, bomb-then-think method is not being followed.
6. Pinkas is infatuated with Obama
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.06.14)
Netanyahu that does a lot for Israel is for him out of his league but Obama who is frozen from damaging the Islamic Caliphate too much is facing "a complicated dilemma, which is in fact impossible"
7. It is a huge dilemma to decide between playing golf or
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.06.14)
being in the White House until 3 AM every day devising strategies how to protect the USA and the Freedom loving people of the world.
8. No dilemma there for Hussein Obama. Not for one moment since
(09.06.14)
he took office.
9. IS will hopefully do a LOT of damage against
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (09.06.14)
Irans interests ! Iran is FAR more dangerous than those zombies...
10. A strategy can be devised.
Avi L.   (09.07.14)
A strategy can be devised. ISIS, Hezballah, Hamas and all the jihadi movements are fueled by propaganda, by the belief that "islam is the solution and jihad is the way", by the aura of invincibility, by the perception that we cannot do anything against them. The strategy starts from the streets of Gaza, it starts chipping away at the confidence in the jihadi way. Had we ended with Hamas in Gaza, we would have shown the world and the Al-Jazeera audience in particular that jihad can be beaten, that jihad against a determined and capable foe brings only destruction (and shada) upon those who practice it. The US military came up with a winning strategy in Iraq, coopting the sunni tribes against al Zarkawi organisation. We too had someone to coopt, someone who had some accounts to settle with Hamas-Islamic Brotherhood. We could but there was none at the helm with any strategy, the goal was "sheket". No vision, no goal, no strategy, just make-up and hairdo. You want some clear vision? Take some avarian of the heavy kind and ask him to analyse the situation and identify some counter jihad ... just try. Maybe he will come up with something a tad more realistic than some "think tank" filled up with Dr-Prof-MBA and so on. Maybe better than the emptiness that shows itself every day through empty declarations on TV news Or maybe even better call back Wingate from the grave
11. Obama's only dilemma is if to play golf now or in 5 minutes
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (09.07.14)
12. But he WAS told, Pinkas - heres what Obama said in Jan. 2014
Dr. L. Brnd ,   San Diego, USA   (09.07.14)
"If you take some second-string high school bench warmers, and put them in LA Lakers jerseys, you don't get Kobe Bryant". Obama told all the US experts who warned him about ISIS in great detail that they were all wroing, and that he was right - nothing to fear from ISIS. Our boob in the White House has no strategy today because he decided one wasn't needed. We had the same problem with know-it-all Jimmeh Cahtuh and his Iran mess in the late 1970's. Pinkas needs to rethink his mindless Obama worship. And those, like Pinkas, who think there is no way to defeat ideology-driven ambitious fanatics like ISIS have forgotten about WW2 - when ideology-driven fanatics of Nazi Germany and Samuri-Imperial Japan WERE WIPED OUT. The strategy is simple - to be more ruthless than they are. And to set unconditional surrender as the only outcome, not negotiate a "lull".
