1. Abass, the Mufti snake!
Benny ,   Iran   (09.07.14)
It is insane to talk to the PLO. Abbas ,Arafat, Erekat ,Saddam, Ghadaffi, Erdogan, Morsi, Ahmadinejad -- & all these Muslim ISIS< HAMAS ,etc need to be told "their time is up." THEY ARE LIKE SNAKES IN THE GRASS ready to bite.
2. It ought to be clear to any peace loving person who hopes to
N.L.Katz ,   Qatzrin, Israel   (09.07.14)
see an accommodation of peaceful coexistence implemented that the government of Israel has been doing two things: 1) govern the territory under its control based on both moral and legal codes in place; and, 2) has been seeking a permanent accommodation of peaceful coexistence along the lines drawn by the late Mr. Yitzhaq Rabin. I honestly appeal to those among us who have elevated Rabin's name, and rightly so, and for many years condemned the freely elected political leadership of Israel that came after his time: what do you think of the essence of Rabin's vision and, would you stand by it, as follows: Realistically, there is only one way to resolve the conflict: to follow the footpath set up by the late Mr. Yitzhaq Rabin before his death and implement his vision, as is, as he articulated it during his last speech at the Knesset on 5 Oct 1995: 1) Jerusalem will remain united under Israel's sovereignty and will also include the suburbs of Ma'aleh Adumim and E1 along with Giv'at Zeev 2) Jewish settlement blocs will be incorporated into the sovereign State of Israel, including Gush Qatif in Gaza 3) The Jordan Valley, in the broadest meaning of the term, will remain under Israel's rule 4) The future Palestinian Arab political entity (autonomy, NLK) will be fully demilitarized, its airspace will be controlled by Israel as will its boundaries and border passes: land, sea and air And, note, he didn't invite Arabs who left the country to settle in Israel nor for any Jewish villages or town to be uprooted from either Gaza, Samaria, Judea or the Jordan Valley!! The above, let us note, is based on the fundamental elements of international law related to the status of Eretz Israel/Palestine, i.e. San Remo conference decisions, 1920; League of Nations decisions, 1922; UN Charter, article 80, 1945. And, it is very much within the context of UN Security Council Resolution, 242, 1967, which passed unanimously, accepted by all parties to the conflict and used as the only basis for all peace talks and actual treaties signed to date. P.S. The question that is often asked is: So, what will the Palestinian get in the process. The answer is very simple: Peace, autonomy and prosperity, which is what the Jews will attain by implementing this vision. In my view, it beats what we, Jews and Arab alike, have had since 1920!!
3. He's just an EVIL old man ...good ridence

4. 72 Israelis died to get Hamas back to power
Harri ,   EU   (09.07.14)
Breaking Palestinian unity was a glorious victory for Netanyahu and Hamas, though it was a loss for Israel and Palestinians. After Protective Edge Hamas is back and Netanyahu and Hamas can continue resisting negotiating calls. 72 Israelis and 2100 Palestinians is a cheap price for to be able to do nothing. Netanyahus and Hamas's only problem is Abbas who keeps yearning for peace and negotiations, but next war is already looming and it may save Netanyahu and Hamas before international pressure grows too high. Netanyahu is a soldier, not a diplomat. He was not elected to make peace. Netanyahu was elected to gain victories. With circle of wars Israel may be doomed on the long run, but Netanyahu and Hamas will be fine. Eventually someone has to find a negotiated solution for this conflict, but that is not a concern for Netanyahu or Hamas.
5. the Abbas plan gets him a state peace or no peace
Zionist forever   (09.07.14)
Obama has no choice but to veto because even if he and Kerry like it they have to think about the congressional elections in November. The Democrats cannot have a president from their party allowing Abbas to dictate terms, makes US look weak internationally & traditional Democrat Jewish voters won't like it. The Abbas plan is not even a peace plan it's create a state plan because even if terror increases massively Abbas still gets his state because the resolution guarantees it. Abbas will get the General Assembly resolution easily & will take Israel to the ICC but that's face saving because without the Security Council he has lost
6. Abas the phoney does not want peace at all!
Dina   (09.08.14)
7. old age
john ,   toronto   (09.09.14)
I am sure that it is his old age that gives him such energy. People half his age will not be able to travel with so much vigor all over the world and then to control the finances of PA. He should loosen his grip a little.
8. Watch "Palestine" fall at our feet like a rag.
Chaim ,   Israel   (09.09.14)
Israel need merely end the lunatic flow of Israeli food, money, materials, electricity, security, work permits etc. to evil Fictional Palestine and it falls, at our feet, like a rag. Everyone who loves Israel should demand this NOW!
