islam has given rise to "all branches of the same poisonous tree" whether it be al qaeda, hezbollah, hamas, isis. all of these murderous supremacist groups are funded and armed by islamic state sponsors of terror. obama's claim that isil is "not islamic" since no religion condones the killing of innocents is a lie and a-historical. indeed, islam has a history of imperial colonial wars in which it had conquered very large numbers of territory on three continents. to this day, islam remains a supremacist religion. the saudis and other muslim states refuse the exercise of other religions, be it christianity or judaism. it is not in the least surprising that isis has been savagely persecuting religious minorities in territories which it has conquered. nor is it surprising that sunni and shia are slaughtering each other as they have been doing for centuries. it would be incumbent on the american president to acknowledge the truth about islamic imperialism. isis might be an extreme version of this scourge, but it is nevertheless a branch of the same poisonous tree.
