2. It's called lawlessness
Dov ,   Israel   (10.01.14)
If there's no law and order and immorality and corruption is the order of the day in the IDF, it's a miracle that only 3 committed suicide.
3. These soldiers murdered bunch of civillians
Onas   (10.01.14)
So God made sure to miserate their lives. recurring nightmares is enough for God to force criminals and evil people like some IDF soldiers to commit suicide and face the real punishment there after.
4. were they killed by the Arabs
k ,   US   (10.01.14)
I know in Israel there is a large Arab population, is it possible they were killed and it was made to seem a suicide
5. Cannabis relieves PTSD trauma
Yosef ,   ex-Israeli   (10.01.14)
These suicides are a real tragedy. Circumstances should be investigated. One simple option that may prevent suicide and treat PTSD and the insomnia and traumas of war is marijuana (Cannabis). It improves mood, relieves symptoms of anxiety and depression, helps end the feedback loop of unwanted thoughts, pain, and images, and helps one forget the intensity of unwanted traumatic memory. Too bad the State of Israel encourages homosexual sins but will retraumatize and criminalize a former combat soldier for a therapeutic relationship with a plant!

government authority, by police authority or in self defense. It is the Hamas you should be angry at since Israel protects their children with missiles but Hamas protects their missiles with children.

The human race is looking pretty sad. We lose a young man two weeks ago because his rappeling ropes are cut. And now we lose three youths. This isn'tright and the comments on the link you sent are obnoxious! Who knows who wrote them, but they are not acceptable. I can't believe this stuff goes on, but I can believe it... because in another form it happens to me. May these loved ones be comforted.

9. It is more likely a connection to foods that are toxic that

led to the suicides or RX medicines that have a side effect of suicidal or murderous feelings. SSRI and SNRI drugs should be banned to stop those toxic drugs from being given to anyone. Too much Omega-6-fatty acids like in seed oils is toxic for the heart and can lead to suicide or a heart attack. Better to give soldiers olive oil that is omega-9-fatty acid or walnut oil (omega 3 fatty acids) or coconut oil (medium chain triglyercides) that promote brain health. Fish oil may be radioactive which is toxic. Sugar and white flour can cause depression, too. Hits on the head can cause brainwave abnormalities that can lead to suicide if an EEG does not detect that and RX meds like phenobarbital given. Hippocrates said long ago in Greece, let your food be your medicine and let your medicine be your food.

Resolving the Conflict Between Conscience and Success." May I recommend that before you all set forth your self-righteous depositions on these soldiers' lives, that you read this book by Harold Kushner – perhaps to find within its pages, some sound advice and a chance to turn your eyes inward to the workings of your own devices. That these soldiers chose self-defeat, rather than to confront their own "demons," is unfortunate for their families. Please, please, do not demean yourselves with vituperative accusations. God Loves Us All. Shalom.

My father came back from serving 5 years in ww2. He was a front line soldier and take my word for it , saw much worse than anything these poor guys could ever had done. My Gfather was a first world war soldier and saw perhaps even worse things. yet like most of their fellow soldiers they both went straight back into civy life without a complaint or even thinking about psychological effects . They lived a full and happy life. I think it has to be something else that triggers this

Wondering if their suicides are linked to the horrors they inflicted upon the people of Gaza. Guilt of this magnitude is hard to overcome, so self judgement may have been their final admission.
14. Combat stress - 2
Veronique ,   Israel   (10.02.14)
I think that instead of insulting each other, all the people who defend Gaza and all the people who defend Israel should unite and force Gaza to stop bombarding us... this way there would be no traumas to our civil population, no trauma to our soldiers (kids!!! 19-21 years old!!!) and no killing and traumas to the civil population of Gaza!!! The main problem with these poor 3 soldiers is that the army did not provide help! That's the main issue here! Why should they be alone with their pain and their anguish! Why did we abandon them? Shame on us and on the Army...
15. Have we failed?
ky   (10.02.14)
If can take a historical view of the nature of humanity it appears that every so often a particular generation is called upon to defend our way of life. The struggle against tyranny and oppression is in reality never ending. Have we failed to educate our young people that the freedoms they enjoy is not a given thing and that they may in the course of their lives have to stretch themselves beyond their comfort zone and take part in this never ending fight?. Once again a terrible threat is appearing on the horizon in the shape of the Islamic State . Previous generations when called upon have responded with courage and determination. A new generation of youth called upon to take part in the struggle against this evil should regard themselves as honored rather than feeling any shame or remorse.
16. A tragic story... but ALL facts have not been provided...
Rafi ,   US   (10.02.14)
- how many recruits commit suicide in Givati brigade in a typical year? for example, how many soldiers perished last year in the same way in this unit? - was there specfic evidence (letters, etc) that their decision was related to this past summer's Gaza operations? - in short, it appears that this article leaves out a lot of info realtive to cause and effect.
