1. More pork for the Israeli Oligarchy
Economist ,   Be'er Sheba Israel   (10.05.14)
How convenient. Selling off National assets to pay for a foolish military operation that did nothing to change the long-term problem of radical extremists. As with the 'privatization' of the huge gas field that could have reduced the cost of living here, this plan will do nothing to help the average citizen who can barely survive because of the enormous tax burden... while a large sector pays little or no taxes at all. How long can we endure the Israeli Animal Farm system?
2. #1 It will actually induce a boom
Vlad   (10.06.14)
Thanks to the Business Concentration Law, it is now illegal to create new monopolies, and the tycoons are being forced to dismantle the current monopolies. This will actually be a major economic boost.
3. How about privatizing
Kalman ,   BB   (10.06.14)
city buses and allowing charedim to have their own private buses where they'll be able to get normal drivers and have women sit according to Torah law.
4. #2 - Enforcing the law
Economist ,   Be'er Sheba Israel   (10.06.14)
Do you think the 'Business Concentration Law' will actually be enforced? I don't think it will. Like the laws against corruption, there might be some selective 'enforcement', but nothing of consequence. The small number of individuals and families controlling Israel's industries and assets will not allow genuine competition. If there is an 'economic boost' it will be limited. But here's to hoping the future proves me wrong. I want us to not just survive, but to thrive and prosper. We have the potential, the brainpower. But we don't have the necessary governmental and economic system. What's happening now is only cosmetic... and for most Israelis this is all that matters.
5. That's simply disgusting.
Avi L.   (10.09.14)
Instead of fighting corrupted and "politicized" managers of public companies they put in power in the first place, politicians sell our companies to their friends from the golf club. If politicians are aware of any corruption it is their duty to us and to the country to denounce it to the praklitut, order administrative investigations, fire suspected of corruption and run properly the wealth of the Nation, assets they have been entrusted to manage in our name. So politicians, for "political" reasons name "politicized" or corrupted guys and when they need money to cover their own government incompetence they sell our properties instead of firing the management, as should be normal. In any private company it would lead to court, but since we are the court of the government ... it leads to contempt of the people which is everyday political practice. Our assets are being sold to aquaintances of the political echelon, because I don't think that Yossi from Ofakim is having a drink with ministers and is having the money to buy anything, while it's more likely that some guy from Savyon is sharing the same gym with some minister, have a BBQ and some "serious talk" about "growth". What made our country a great country is beeing destroyed day by day by the ones who should preserve it.
