1. Dream on
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (10.07.14)
Countries with border issues are chomping at the bit, desperate to purchase Iron Dome. The country salivating the most? South Korea. Take that, Ban Ki Moon. Singapore, Malaysia, India, even Asian republics that are eyeing Russia with a certain amount of skepticism. Morocco. Algeria. (Still those issues over the Polisario.) The three Baltic republics -- they don't much like Russia, either. A few South American countries with disputed borders. Price is no object, and Iron Dome is battle tested. As to an interceptor missile that falls unused? First of all, that hasn't happened yet. Secondly, they'd self destruct and disintegrate. Iron Dome -- like its Jewish inventors -- is very, very, VERY smart.
2. Because it's a lemon ,...
split ,   US   (10.07.14)
... a very expensive lemon that's going to end up just like Lavi ,...
3. SIMPLE! IT IS MADE IN ISRAEL
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (10.07.14)
Others are interested but they are afraid to be labeled as supporters of Israel. And, others are going to copy it once they buy the first battery. It should stay a top secret and weapon of Israel.
4. Because most 'normal' countries...
Jonathan   (10.07.14)
... would not have let Gaza to reach that state/stage in the first place. A parking lot, is MUCH cheaper to run than an Iron Dome.
5. Well... its daughter, Trophy, sold out
Miron ,   USA   (10.07.14)
for the next 10 years or so... The difference the Iron Dome brings to the table is it makes Trophy part of a brand, from a house, where girls can say no. Quite literally. Thanks to Iron Dome capabilities, Israel can scrap Trophy sales tomorrow, if you so wish, and command 10x price, if you feel like strapped for cash...
6. Phalanx - Rockets and Mortars
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (10.07.14)
The US Phalanx system does rockets and mortars and is also battle proven at a fraction of the price. And it can be left behind without any more worry than a Humvee.
7. Most countries operate under a different defense doctrine
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (10.07.14)
If they're being fired upon by hundreds of rockets, they aren't prepared to swat them down while they decide what to do about the attacks. They just respond with their own arms and strike back at the attacker without mercy. And the rockets stop soon enough. Then again, they don't have the UN or fair-weather friends to deal with, and the BBC and CNN won't be showing pictures of "dead children" to restrain them.
8. Hezbollah should buy it from 3rd party
Spazzo   (10.07.14)
That would be a big LOL slap on your face!
9. Who is going to pay for the ID when
DT ,   TA Israel   (10.07.14)
100,000 rockets head our way from the north ? Answer :Nil
10. Iron Dome is not something most countries have a need for
zionist forever   (10.07.14)
Iron Dome is there to shoot down short range rockets only not, mortars or ballistic missiles. So very few countries have a need for a system like that. It was purpose designed for Israel not export. If the wars in Afghanistan & Iraq were still at their peak it would have been exportable for base protection but Afghanistan is winding down & Iraq is over so its all bad timing.
11. Iron Dome a slow sell, of course
C.K.   (10.07.14)
Had they done the job accurately by automatically sending the rockets back to where they came from killing whoever send it and all terrorists in the neighborhood, they would be off-the-shelf before you turn around.
12. no one wants it
(10.07.14)
Only Israel cares so much about enemy collateral damage that she is willing to develop a system like Iron Dome. Any other country would respond with massive counter-battery fire, ending the threat quickly and cheaply.
13. #10 ,...
split ,   US   (10.08.14)
Unlike yours most countries invested in peaceful co-existence and respect for their neighbors not wars ,...
