The same black wrapped schmocks that are against it are the ones involved in harvesting organs from poor disadvantaged folks for a chump change in third world countries, trafficking across the world where there's a market for their 'commodity' ripping off desperate and needy on the other end - I assume this kind of 'harvest' suits you better ,... By the way every few months there's an organ harvesting/smugling ring busted around the world, guess who are the ring leaders and mules? ,...

Have the good rabbis also prevented their flock from receiving a transplant? Not very likely. They should---or WE should. Only those who sign the approval for a possible future donation of their organs should get priority in receiving a transplant. Let the rabbis wait heir turn.

donation to all human beings excepting members of the Eda Haredit for they have no understanding of the words 'Bein Adam L'Chavero' (between man and his friend). My point is that these people shouldn't benefit because they are not willing to share. May G-d grant to them according to their measure.

Do you know how many people carrying these card are killed by doctors yearly? If you're in car accident or in a coma, there's no way in the world you'll come out of the coma or get well after an accident if you carry such a card. The second you enter a hospital, the first they check if you have such a card and then good bye forever. The Rabbis are well aware of this and that's why they forbade it.

It is too bad that Hadash Hospital is willing to avoid keeping people alive by organ transplant due to the wishes of a small group of people living as if w are still in the 16th century. Shame on Hadassah

You write "we have the right to be left in Peace ....when we die" I don't know if you are stupid, or if you are retarded. Please understand that the organs of ONE person who dies and NO LONGER NEEDS heart liver, lungs, kidneys and retinas can save the lives of 4 or 5 people and improve the lives of 2 more. There is no greater mitzvah than this.

To stop funding Hadassah is wrong. The hospital should simply make sure that no Haredim receive organs until their leaders cooperate with the program.
11. Two views, as in England
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (10.15.14)
The two Rabbinical heads of Edah Haredit are from Britain where some rabbis require the heart to stop beating before donating organs, while other top rabbonim accept brain stem death. There are Halachic organ door cards that set out a patients preference.
