What are more peace talks going to do if Palestinians reject that they end up with Palestinian and Jewish states? Let me clarify. Ancient histories are continually subject to debate and revision and are therefore useless for the justification of the territorialisation of nationalistic ambition. The justification for Israel rests on its existence as a contemporary state with international recognition. The justification for Palestine rests on its existence as a putative state with eventual international recognition. The two are not mutually exclusive but do require painful decisions on both sides.
