1. with due respect to Dr. Weiss

I think she has missed it here. The incestuous father was put in jail for many years and it was recognized by all that he brain washed his 'family'. The victim is not nor was not guilty except to the point of being brainwashed and that is very sad indeed.
2. Crime of incest
robert ,   antwerp <belgium   (10.30.14)
According to halaha incest is a crime . The sentence is death when some conditions are met : witnesses and warning. Mrs Ruhama Weiss is having some faulty conclusions which she draws from some stories in the Bible. First , all stories that predate the covenant at har Sinai were not under the laws brought by Moses. so no conclusions may be drawn from them.
3. Weren't 'escape cities' for the perpetrator of incest?
BUILD BABY BUILD!!   (10.31.14)
If I recall correctly, all those found guilty of incest were to be separated from their family and city to an 'escape city". Meaning no contact whatsoever with the family. This mental illness can't be justified or explained other than to say there is no cure. Excuses and explanations defending the rapists committing incest is also a great sin. BUILDING ALWAYS BUILDING ISRAEL !!!

In the past having the title Dr. attached to the name was a sign of intelligence and logical thinking, but today it is a thing of the past and the title is only used to impress people who don't know otherwise. The good Dr. Weiss only uses the stories in the Torah to vent her personal issues and should not be taken seriously.
5. I would expect better from a doctor.
nibor ,   israel   (10.31.14)
There is no doubt that incest is a crime, but that it is a difficult area. The victim should never be blamed, but we also have to make sure no one is falsely accused. There may be incest in the bible, but the paragraph she quotes is not about incest, and it is quite clear. The sons or grandsons were so embarrassed by Noah's nakedness that they put garments on their backs and walked in backwards, letting the garments drop on Noah, so they would not have to look at him. The "thing" they did to him was cover him, and being the authority figure he may have resented their interference. I am not religious and am the last person to whitewash the bible, but in this case, I think she is quite mistaken. By the way, the whole Bible seems to be written like that, but it also was in an ancient tongue probably better understood by the people at that time.
6. Education, the Law and the Way
Jerusalem   (10.31.14)
Check with the ones that know how to teach their children, know the penalty of the Law and know the way. Start with the ultra-Orthodox. They have some very good teachers and Masters in "their own"/ God's right. Don't forget the obedient and religious Levi's. There's coming a day.
