There are people all over the world that rip off welfare and most likely some Haridim do so too. The difference that you seem unaware of is that Israel is the only country in the world that allows the Haridim to legally live off of welfare because of their religion beliefs. There is nothing even in haredi Judaism that forbids them to be in the recruitment center when women are present. This is just nonsense pure and simple and the army shouldn't indulge them. Courageous rabbis, and I mean haredi rabbis, can and should speak out against this.

There certainly are many haredi scammers and welfare cheats in the US, but there are also many haredi white collar professionals (doctors, lawyers, accountants, computer programmers--not that many hassidim, but "mitnaged" types) and even blue-collar workers--in Boro Park Brooklyn one can find haredi auto mechanics, plumbers, HVAC technicians --I've even seen a haredi track maintenance worker on the NYC subway. Of course there are many haredi small business owners too, and many work in the diamond business. In Israel, however, collectively they are rewarded for not being in the workforce in a way they are not elsewhere.
