1. US always wanted a Divided Jerusalem
USa"friendly"Enemy ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.01.14)
If we are honest with ourselves the US never ever wanted to see a completed Jewish State because of oil interests it always wanted a small indefensible mini state for the Jews a Jerusalem at best internationalized at worst a Moslem Capital . Never forget in 1939 the Congress of the USA denied entry to 20,000 Jewish children under 14 condemning them to certain death in Nazi Europe Its been a "bitter Honeymoon" and now even that is over time to seek new allies Will our leaders have the courage ?!
2. WHOEVER will follow mullah Obama will be
Chris Rettenmoser ,   Bayerisch Gmain Germ   (11.01.14)
MUCH better for Israel...
3. You only have to step back a little to view
Tim ,   Brighton   (11.01.14)
The contretemps objectively With the dramatic twists and turns unfolding in the whole region and the events in Israel leading up to Protective Edge how can it be surprising that tensions between the US and Israel were BOUND to arise given the divergence of immediate priorities which were sometimes frustratingly difficult to bridge Yet at the very height of World War 11there were innumerable occasions where Churchill standing alone resisting Nazi tyranny was infuriated, exasperated and embittered by Roosevelts early perceived disdain and indifference - these challenges do happen So US and Israeli diplomats and politicians need to take a step back, analyse what went wrong, what misunderstandings occured and what can be learned and what procedures put in place to ensure that at such critical and difficult times lines of communication, actions and reactions are not fuzzed up by emotion and irrational and irresponsible rhetoric
4. We YNet posters all knew BEFORE O becamPOTUS that he was
Alan ,   SA   (11.01.14)
gunniing for Israel Indeed we expected him to attempt to bring Israel "to heel" and wherever that led His opening speeches in Cairo were the opening salvo of the "Arab Spring".... We can all see what a disaster he unleashed on the entire region of the ME and indeed Africa to the equator! We must study Cairo and Teheran to see how they handle those Obama Admin incompetants
5. Yaalon is not a diplomat
Ronda ,   USA   (11.01.14)
Yaalon should have only met w/Hagel. Why is the defense minister meeting w/Power? Why is he meeting or attempting to meet w/Kerry. Israel is sending the wrong man at the wrong time for the wrong purpose. I cant think of any way Israel could have possibly expected this visit to produce any positive results.
6. Obama and not the U.S.
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte, USA   (11.01.14)
Israel does not have a problem with the U.S.; it has a problem with Obama. Obama has done more to harm American interests than any president in recent memory. The American people do not like Obama's anti-Israel positions. The answer is to ignore Obama and directly lobby the Congress with regard to Israel-related issues.
7. To: No. 5
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.02.14)
Has it occurred to you that perhaps Ya'alon had a message to deliver? I realize that the Secretary of Defense is not one of the more important Cabinet posts, but the Defense Ministry is the second highest post in Israel. Israel honored the United States. The United States tried to humiliate Israel. It didn't work. In fact, it backfired. Israel has nothing more to say to the American administration. It's going to be a very long two years for Obama, when no one in Jerusalem takes his increasingly desperate calls.
8. TO 6 - Obama is he Elected US Leader
Mark ben Josef ,   USA   (11.01.14)
Hating Obama is hating the choice of the US electorate and the voters.
9. Diplomacy Is Part of Realpolitikking
joyce fraser ,   USA   (11.02.14)
Since hardly anything is simple - and likely complex - within the world of politicking, all those concerned regarding decision-making as pertains to their respective nations, must have the sense and discipline to express their viewpoints appropriately for each situation and/or occasion. Unfortunately, personality often conflicts with national interests, as well as with both internal/domestic and external/international relations. Considering the forgoing, there should ALWAYS be alternatives ... ... held in reserve for problem-solving among nations.

Nobody should hate Obama. (love your enemy) But the choice could have been wrong.
