1. re Gaza Evacuations lesson learned
Gidi   (11.04.14)
Mr Barnea, as much as you convince yourself and try to convince readers of Ynet.com, who witnessed GAza evacuations hoping it would bring peace, but the Gazans or the PLO had other ideas. They gifted Israel with Hamasi/Jihad rocket missiles tunnels and all its trimmings.. I assure you no matter how much you try to convince us all that withdrawing from West Bank is such a great idea and the World will Embrace the Jewish state with love and gratitude, ye, Mr Barnea and your ilk, do us a favor stay in LALALAND BY YOURSELF.
2. is barnea for real?
geroge   (11.04.14)
unilateral withdrawal from gaza permitted hamas entry and israel to be hit with 14000 rockets and paralysis. West bank withdrawal will shut down ben gurion and permit hamastan on west bank with rockets hitting tel aviv routinely. The world could give a shit about israel.Six million died so this barnea could spout this olmert nonsense- signed peace agreement will make things wonderful. Oh and you can depend on the united state right> Like the iraqi army ran away. Like general allen's plan of sensors on the jordan valley which no nothing livni likes will prevent isis and gun smuggling. Like the PLO will stop isis. Barnea now has opened the door clearly to fellow jews: Remove the gun and depend on the world to save the poor jews or as yesh atid's peri said, there are fantastic arabs waiting to line up with peace loving jews. Bullshit 100%. The arabs want the jews out of tel aviv. What they do to the yashidis of iraq or kurds in the past is what they would do to the jews if they gain the leverage. Rabin was wrong, 100% wrong to follow peres and beilin into a never ending black hole. You want peace- hold the high ground and your guns; otherwise prepare for the next genocide.
3. Stupid idea, indeed a very stupid one
Fernando ,   uruguay   (11.04.14)
Tel aviv will receive Fajr 5 from Gaza and from Ramalla also.We will get very tough wars.but from a closer location......What a stupid idea !!!!!
4. Just what Israel needs.Pal missiles+tunnels on the West Bank
Sam ,   Canada   (11.04.14)
That's what you get for a withdrawal without a peace agreement.
5. Liberal or Leftist? the difference
Jake ,   Jerusalem   (11.04.14)
There is a difference between the Liberal and the Leftist. A liberal is one who is willing to hear opinions other than his own; a Leftist is one who believes his opinions are correct and those on the other side live in total ignorance. Thank goodness that the Liberals who were in the Left camp have listened to reason and understood that the Arabs do not want peace. They left the Leftist camp as unreal. The danger today is from the Leftist who in spite of evidence to the contrary keep banging their head on the 'door' to peace and don't realize that there is no 'door' to be opened.
6. barnea, why not go all the way
milson   (11.04.14)
barnea bemoans settler patriots who by the way do more than their fair share of idf duty. He bemoans bennett and any from the right who claim judea and samaria as judge levy said they had a legal right to. Barnea wants peace and world support. Whynot go all the way- then you, livni, cabel, lapid, herzog and haaretz and ynet writers would be satisfied. Leave tel aviv and israel period. Go to US, Canada, Poland, and take all the jews. The peace that olmert and peres decribed, with the onus being on israel to take the iniative supposes that the arabs will gradually learn to live in peaceful harmony with the jews. It won't happen and morever, the arabs want to kill 1 million jews outright and boot the rest out. In the middle east, you are eihter powerful or you end up like the yazidis, helpless subservients who can be killed and raped at will. Barnea ought to look at dachau and buchenwald and then take a good look at the arabs, take a really good look at the arabs.
7. Barnea´s box
Scharp ,   Tel Aviv, Israel   (11.04.14)
I agree - things can still be done, there are still opportunities, and there are many israelis that want Israel to come up with new ideas, to take initiatives. And I believe it will happen. Every time this state seems to crash into the final darkness, something positive happens - the pendulum swings and other people and ideas in Israel comes to the forefront. But in my box there is no room for unilateral withdrawals from the West Bank, with the emphasis on "unilateral". But some minor changes/relocations - that gives land and new business opportunites for the palestinians - coordinated with the PA and the Quartet, could be a good idea. Maybe Barak should come back, and present a promising and updated version of the legacy of Rabin.
8. GIDI you are right
MJ   (11.04.14)
When you say this guy is living in LALALAND!!! I don't believe it, in which reality he lives. What is he thinking about what we have to endure after Sharon's great idea for Gush Katif. People are lacking intelligence? I thought we were an intelligent people!!! But the left is always the left and if we give them authority in Israel we'll be trown away in the mediterranean see very soon. This people are insane, it's so sad that our people are so divided... no house can stand if it is divided, that means we don't even need our enemies to finish the job with us, we are finishing with this beautiful home G.OD Almighty gave us back, from inside out already!!! G.OD have mercy of your people....
9. Confusing wishful thinking with reality ALWAYS a threat!
(11.04.14)
Always was, is, always will be in this world. They shut their eyes to reality and live in their dream world, pretending always holding sway over anything that might contradict their pretend world.
10. Let the leftist minority age in peace
TheAgingLeft ,   Jerusalem Israel   (11.04.14)
Have mercy on this columnist he is part of the aging disappearing left no children losing the complete control of the media finally as one columnist recently said of them "let this minority age in peace" have mercy on them it cant be easy for them to see their destructive dreams implode.
11. refusing to see realities!
tiki ,   belgium   (11.04.14)
This is a typical example of the pot calling the cattle black!
12. Obvious Ratings Improvement Article
Zechariah   (11.04.14)
13. Eitan Haber
Iletzter ,   Tel Aviv   (11.04.14)
The time has come to write off the left , totally. I saw a question posed: Who was right Kahane or Rabin . They bring many quotes or "prophecies" of Meir Kahane of what will happen if we continue in the ways of the left. I would say they are materialized - and the question is truly and cadidbly answered by saying Kahane was right. However , was not a prophet of doom. He had some interesting solutions. Today's government does nothing , has no strategy, and when there is a vaccum - terror can permeate and spread. We need a true leader and not someone from the left who is unrealistic like Peres, but someone who knows what he wants , can develop a viable strategy and implement it. Like Sharon before he went sour.
14. When will Barnea&Left realize we don't accept their insanity
(11.04.14)
15. left walked off edge of world long ago. cannot be saved
ralph   (11.04.14)
16. Leftism is incurable brain disease.
Ariel ,   Israel   (11.04.14)
17. Leftists' insanity
Moshe ,   Israel   (11.04.14)
Aside from the mortar shells and missiles on almost every site (including the Knesset) in Israel, which the proposed withdrawal from West Bank will apparently cause, the blind left ignores not less dangerous threat – A civil war. It is not a matter of evicting 8500 settlers from Gaza Strip, but nearly 400,000. Such blunder will certainly lead to mass disobediences and desertions in the IDF and the police, and probably armed resistance in various settlements, joined by army deserters.
18. Why be 'stuck' with the settlers?
Dan   (11.05.14)
Abandon them to their idiotic fate. The state has no obligation to follow, and a duty not to follow, every madman wherever they go. Unfortunately our PM is committed to following madmen, and that is the problem - the stupidity of Israelis in electing a follower of madmen. When Israel becomes intelligent there could be peace.
19. # 18 Why be 'stuck' with post-Zionists?
Moshe ,   Israel   (11.06.14)
The settlers are the contemporary pioneers who view Judea and Samaria no less their homeland as Tel-Aviv and Ramat-Gan, and they are not the cause of the conflict with the Arabs, only the current pretext. Post-Zionist leftists whose illusive peace is top desire, can emigrate to a country where tranquility exists and Jews are not harassed, at least for the time being.
20. Israel and International UN force
DANNS ,   Montevideo-R.O.U   (11.08.14)
Unfortunately since long time ago (at least 30 years) extremistics and fanatics specially from West Jerusalem gathered from all parts of the world and made a deviation of former Medinat Israel international status .Israel had lost a lot of international legitimacy thanks to the extremistic and fanatic point of view that curbed feeling in international laws legitimacy vocation of Israel governments .Remember Israel after 1967 Six days war .Or after camp David Peace Treaty of Peace with Egypt in 1978-79 .Nowadays what only has importance is the" Mashiaj times and its preparation times"(if he finally arrives someday) by this fanatics and extremistics we all understand but dont share their extremistics behaviors .This is a greater problem that was NOT TACKLED in its START and AFTER .Now it seems very difficult to manage it easily in my humble opinion .And international religious conflict may not be dismissed soon unfortunately .Lets wait and see .SHABAT SHALOM
