1. 22 months?
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (11.03.14)
That's nothing! How about 22 years? Upon completion of his sentence, strip him of Israeli citizenship and send him to whatever Arab country may be around in 22 years. Israel, of course, will be here, and he's not welcome. Kick his family out, too.
2. Should have been deported.
David ,   Hartford USA   (11.03.14)
Why keep this want-to-be killer in Israel? He should have been deported and his citizenship terminated. This is not the kind of citizen Israel wants around. No need to feed and cloth him for two years- kick his ass out of the country forever.
3. Light Sentence is right
David ,   Tel Aviv, ISRAEL   (11.03.14)
I hope all of the readers are aware that IS and the Syrian "rebels" are not being opposed by Israel. That is, they are on the same anti-Shia side. This is why Israel only bombs Hezbollah and Assad targets (have never once worried about or hit ISIS or Syrian "rebels") and why this guy got a light sentence. Gotta keep up appearances that Israel backs the US's idiotic ISIS fear.
4. great for him. lots of potential recruits in prison.
(11.03.14)
can't anyone in Israel think outside the box for once?
5. take away citizenship & ban MKS standing in future election
zionist forever   (11.03.14)
Pass laws make it possible to strip somebody of their citizenship if they are involved with terror groups at home or abroad. If an MK openly supports terrorists then ban them from the Knesset for a certain number of years starting at the next elections the punishment they cannot argue Knesset immunity the way Zouabi does and always wins because this punishment comes into effect when they are no longer an MK or its undemocratic to take away their right to serve if they have already been elected.
6. #2
(11.03.14)
You cant deport someone who only holds citizenship in one country. It's contrary to the Geneva Convention. You cant leave someone stateless.
7. 22 months is a joke
marv   (11.03.14)
the israeli courts do not protect israeli on the street. They protect the arabs and the rich and wealthy.
8. Is it a joke!!!!! 22 months!!! Israeli law a shit !!!

9. Why Jail this Terrorist?
(11.03.14)
So he can be fed three meals a day On The Israeli people??? DEPORT THIS FILTH AND ALL LIKE HIM!!!
10. It won't be 22 months. More like 15.
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (11.03.14)
Israeli prison sentences are routinely cut by 1/3 for presumed "good behavior". What the judge might have done, if Israeli law allows, was sentence him to the full four years, while suspending two years of that sentence. (US justice provides such flexibility.) That way if he misbehaved even in the slightest after his release, he'd be back to finish that longer sentence.
