I believe that the writer tries to concentrate on the security measures that could be added to seek order .This thinking really ignores the real essence of the conflict : there is an occupation force over the West Bank and East Jerusalem .This occupation humiliates Palestinians ,confiscates their land , restrain their freedom of self determination to have an independent state just like any other nation in the world .I believe the solution is a complete separation between the two nations with full security measures guaranteed by the US,EU ,UN and joint Israeli-Palestinian border control .This would prevent extremists on both sides from attacking the other side .So, the solution is mainly political not more security measures because in the end terrorists ,whoever they are,will find a way to penetrate through all these innovative security means .I believe the issue requires graet leaders who can end this conflict by reaching a peace settlement based on fair pragmatic grounds and not secuity fanatasies .

The right wing has governed Israel since 2001, address your complaints to them. It was Sharon, a right winger, who withdraw from Gaza. Ben-Yishai has finally come around to accept what Avigdor Lieberman has been saying for years: we must "give up the pretense of happy cohabitation between Jews and Arabs" and separate the two populations. But why start with Jerusalem where such separation is difficult and dangerous? Why not start where it is easy? If Ben-Yishai is right, Israel should immediately surrender Kfar Kassem, Tirah, Taybe, Kalansewah, Bartaa and the Iron valley (especially Um el Fahem) to the Palestinian Authority as "area A". Such a move would be easy, require no violence or massive human rights violations and would be a great test case for Ben-Yishai's plan for separation.
