Mahmoud Abbas is quoted as saying that, "Jerusalem is our capital and we will never give this up: Jerusalem that was occupied in 1967 is our Jerusalem. We will safeguard and protect our holy places. " This statement raises many questions. For instance if the Jordanians had control of the east of Jerusalem in 1967, then why attack the west of the city when you know that you might lose the war - which they did. If you lose a war that you have started you have to put up with the result. Abbas is always talking about 'protecting our holy places'. What about protecting Jewish holy places. These existed well before Islam and Muslims were ever on the planet. When the Jordanians had control of the eastern part of Jerusalem they destroyed all the vestiges of Judaism that they could - e.g. Hurva Synagogue. Abbas always tries to speak of the Muslim and 'Christian' world. Does he really think that Christians would like to see further degrodation of their holy places and population. Just look at the Islaminization of Bethlehem - its a Christian city in crisis. Using Abbas's words, the Muslims 'contaminate' everything and everybody that is not following the faith of Islam.

We are all praying to the same God. The place is holy for several religions. A prayer doesn't hurt anyone. Exclusivity for the Muslims on the temple mount is wrong in the eyes of God who cares for every human being because anybody should have the right to pray in any holy place. Not all religions are troublesome. Take for instance all the Far East religions such as Shinto , Zen , Buddhism etc. They all preach harmony and never try to entice others to join. Same in Judaism. One is born to Judaism or converts voluntarily. Different from Christianitry and Islam both of which go out of their way to preach and "encourage" conversion. In biblical times the Christian encouragement was convert or die. Today Islam follows that rule.

But just as non-Muslims are not allowed in Mecca and Medina (even though in history they had large Jewish populations), no Muslims should be allowed in Jerusalem. If they won't behave, close the mosque to all Muslims- permanently. Time for BIBI to state that access to the Temple Mount will be determined by Muslim behavior. For every Israeli killed or injured, the mosque compound will be totally closed for 30 days. The actions of Muslims over the last 3 weeks have caused several gruesome deaths and many injuries. That should keep the mosque closed for at least TWO YEARS. No access, no maintenance, nobody allowed in. If the attacks keep happening, (which we know they will with Abbas cheering them on), the mosque will never reopen. That must be the the rule. No peace in the city, no aceess to the mosque. Period. Is Bibi strong enough to do what needs to be done?

But it is the only holy site for Jews. Without Judaism there would be no Islam or Christianity. Both religions used elements of Judaism to develop their own set of beliefs and both religions felt all those around them had to accept their new religion. Judaism does not work like that. It is one of the only religions in the world that does not try to convert others. It isone of the only religions in the world to accept and practice total tolerance of other religions. Having a portable and invisible God, Judaism can exist anywhere, but the only material thing they hold dear is Jerusalem. Shame on the world for trying to take that away. Jews and Judaism are a work in progress with many, many flaws; however, the ideology is truly a light unto all nations, and the ownership of Jerusalem belongs to them.
