1. boy, she hates men
Jake ,   Jerusalem   (11.13.14)
True there are some men who are bums and crumbs but the esteemed Dr. Weiss seems to have had much personal distress in her life to linger so much on the bad in men and marriage. Of course if she looked a bit tidier she might just have had a better experience.
2. Ger women
Larry ,   LA (formerly)   (11.13.14)
With a movement so large, there are bound to be fall outs. But on the whole, most of those in the Ger community, men and women seems to be happy with their life. But that is merely my impression from meeting and speaking to them. I don't have any grudge, nor am I amongst the group.
3. If you have no comment on the contents...
Noam ,   Israel   (11.13.14)
don't comment at all. And don't attack the writer in person instead.
4. maybe if you will study you will know where is sara
jew ,   europe   (11.13.14)
midrash said it and we know lot of of the women in torah but till you hate torah and need only bring your fantasy from it to write hatefull articles ... there is no answers for you again and again mr Weiss you need a treatment you have some serious problems in secular world there are more unhappy and abused women than in hasidic ,this is fact and everybody knows it. why you dont write about this? who you are trying to fool?
5. ach again self-jew-hating article from mrs weiss
wise ,   eu   (11.13.14)
really? you have to search good tofind in hasidic world woman like this why you dont go search in your "emancipate world" where evry second woman is a victim or abuse, or incest, or rape, or cheating.. but i know , your intention is to bring hate for religious people how so blind person who judge "whole world becouse of 5 person " can be a reporter?? iii i got is ynet are not serious news..
6. Why is this weird woman always here???
Baruch ,   Boston, USA   (11.13.14)
What is YA trying to prove by publishing her useless drivel?
7. Men wrote the tanah so Sarah just wasn't and isn't.
Michael ,   California, USA   (11.14.14)
Ms. Ruhama should organize herself and a group of women like her who will write their own tanah. Women are liberated enough to do it, so go ahead sisters.
8. The HONOR
HS ,   Brooklyn   (11.13.14)
How can one not protest the Horrific desecration of the Avos and Imahos of Klal Yisrael.... For the honor of Avraham Aveinu I protest such disgusting interpretations of the actions and intentions of one of the greatest Tzadikim and the first of the fathers as well as desecration of the mother of all Israel. I know the author wont understand but perhaps a reader will see this and understand the abomination that is in this article...
9. slandering avraha?tzadik?this is last drop in full cup!
jew ,   europe   (11.15.14)
This is really too much. Take the name of holy people our forfathers and formothers and write article like this.. i too think religious , non religious we have to protest against this "author"
10. You are right.
joel ,   Charleston, USA   (11.15.14)
Dr. Weiss, Surrendering one's voice and understanding of right and wrong to authority figures is simply wrong... To permit violence to another is wrong regardless of their gender. To intimidate and/or use a position of authority to "force your will" upon another is wrong. Violence is still violence. Violence against women is not acceptable behavior and the respondents above would, I believe, scream were someone to impose their will on them or use them or violate them. Where, one might ask, is their sense of right and wrong? Where is their sense of justice? Abraham was a man living in the context of his times. Times have changed yet some would still claim that what was good behavior circa 2100 BCE is till good behavior today. Really? Perhaps they'd like to disconnect the running water and the electric lights too? I enjoy reading your columns and hope you continue for many years to come.
11. Befuddled writer
Sam Karchi ,   LONDON   (11.16.14)
Sickening and revolting article
12. Sara Report - Very confusing
Tova ,   Canada   (11.20.14)
This women is confusing the story of Sara. GOD commanded Abraham to take Issac. Sara ousting of Ismael and Hagar is typical - women feel less worthy and in some way jealous when they have no children. It doesn't make Sara a bad women. GOD's plan for Sara & Abraham flourished with Isaac & Jacob and today we have the promise of Israel. Husband do abuse their wives and Women do abuse their husbands & children - Both are capable of doing good things or bad things. I do not agree with Sara Report. The Ultra-Orthodox community have always made life difficult for women, the Hassidic community does not necessary represent GOD's teaching or understand torah. They mostly follow their religious ignorance. The prophets of the Bible including Abraham, Isaac, Moses King David did not use religious supersticion or wear black - GOD looks at the heart. Not the black clothes the haddisic wear.
