When you toss around words like "war crime" lightly, the only purpose you serve is to cheapen the meaning of a war crime. Demolishing homes is punishment, not a war crime. A war crime is deliberately firing 90,000 missiles at Israeli civilians. When one commits a crime, the expectation of suitable punishment exists. Israel has determined that destruction of a terrorist's home is suitable punishment. In fact, I would argue that the law does not go far enough. Following demolition of the homes, all family members should be deported to Gaza. Now THAT will make people think twice before committing an act of terror against the Jewish people. And if it doesn't, at least they will be penned in Gaza Zoo.

they were stopped some years ago because they weren't effective ( read completely in-effective) They don't deter, they only enhance anger. It's just a cold desire for vengeance from Israel....

Ever since the practice of demolishing homes "as a deterrent" started - and it's been several decades already - we have seen nothing but a massive RISE in terrorism. The problem in Israel is that things are done because "that's how it's always been" and whether they work or not is irrelevant. Destroying these homes creates only more hatred and contributes to the vicious cycle of tit for tat, and in a region in which the culture of retribution serves only to nurture more of the same. Only the truly stupid keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again.

Just revoke the ownership of the house and declare it state property for 10 years. Destroying it only brings more violence.
