This bill basically says that the way things are today will be the way in future and it protects these national symbols etc. Israel is gradually becoming a more secular and politically correct country, this bill means and 20-30 years from now Israel will be a Jewish state still. If we create a palestinians state you can be sure next battle will be with the Israeli arabs who demand a religion neutral state for all and the world will support it and because many leftists are not comfortable with the Jewish state concept anyway they just need the political sutuation to be right to push it.

The new bill is a good start in separating those supporting Israel from those that don't. If you are not supporting a Jewish Israel, you are supporting anti-semetism. Antisemites will not compromise, no matter what they get. To the contrary, they will be empowered to want more and eventually to exterminate Jews, as history has proved We are either with Jewish Israel or not. There is no middle ground. The only peace process that works is the one imposed on a defeated enemy.

The unmentioned and most important part of the new law is that only jews will in the future have a vote on this subject. In the past if arabs reached majority of vote they could overturn the status of Israel's jewishness, as well as the law of return.

As a true friend of Israel, I congratulate Ynet for Daniel Friedman's good text. Of course, Israel will be always a Jewish State . Her flag (David's Star) does mean it. But not "only Jewish". Muslims, Christians, and other minorities, since they affirm loyalty, deserve full citizenship. If a Palestinian State is created, through a so desired peace's agreement, Arabs will have to opt between the both nationalities. I think Israel needs a written Constitution, approved by the people in a "referendum", after being by the Knesset. It will enforce very much her democratic system. Salutes.
