There is no surprise here: PLO and the Arab states have always stated that their goal is the termination of Israel. Because of this, the basis for Israel's concessions to PLO since 1993 were American, European and International guarantees that they would prevent PLO from taking any unilateral steps. The Zionists always warned that the guarantees were worthless, and Israel would make concessions and get nothing in return. The Leftists who led the "peace process" dismissed the Zionist's concern. Once again we see that the Zionists were right and the Left was wrong.
