You should check (when you feel better) with Magen David Adom about taking that knife out. I'm pretty sure that when a person is stabbed or impaled with an object the instrument should be stabilized in place until the victim is under medical care. One doesn't know if the item is stuck in an organ and the sudden removal could lead to hemorrhaging and more. I hope this doesn't happen to anyone but it's good to get the answer in advance.
