1. sad...
David   (12.03.14)
It is sad that this has happened, particularly because Netanyahu is the only figure of the current political heads, who seems willing-- both by declaration and by action-- to stand up to international pressure. While he seems most likely to win, one NEVER knows what will happen in an election, and three months is a long time. I prefer the imperfection of a coalition that includes Lapid and Livni to the uncertainty of three months of nail-biting, and certainly to the prospect of a Labor-led government. So now it is nail-biting time.
2. stabbing Israel
Avi L.   (12.03.14)
About stabbing Israel, guess who
3. What if? What if Bibi has FOUND the Right way and is doing
(12.03.14)
exactly what needs to be done right here, right now?! Now is the crucial time for People of Israel to speak & show our intentions: do we continue on that path to oblivion or are we willing to stand tall & proud and face whatever may come as a sovereign Nation?
4. IDF move still will be
Zechariah   (12.03.14)
The IDF will Relocate to the south and the Bitachonim will be stronger .A Palestinian Autonomous State can be formed in half of Judae and Samaria and much of Islamic Israel. Whenthe Jews Recover their Demographic losses from the Catastrophies The Jews will be able to be more inclusive.
5. the real issue
(12.03.14)
Yemini forgets the last war, where the IDF was helpless while rockets hit Tel Aviv and Obama dumped Fatah to form an alliance with Hamas. The Israeli voter should be asking whether toI vote for the people who gave Hamas, Hezbollah and Fatah the weapons to attack us, or to vote for the Right Wing parties.
6. Election weariness
ggg ,   Tel Aviv   (12.03.14)
Netanyahu's only "strength" is in knowing that the public are sick of elections and would rather do something else. The proportional representation system nullifies their votes and they're sick of voting one party and ending up with minority parties steering the ship by extortion. Barnea, however is right that not to vote is often a vote for minority parties. The haredim come out in force while the country's "elite" lie on the beach. Non votes are uncounted votes, in effect giving minority parties with more voters more power. Netanyahu has not called an election because he "can't govern" - the last war showed us all that he can't anyway. He has always brought forward elections to lengthen his own headship. This way, if he wins (heaven forbid), he gets 7 years.., then calls elections after 5 and gets another 7 - and so on. Wake up Israel. If you want democracy to continue, get rid of the self-serving - and incompetent - Netanyahu!!
7. #6, in America people go to election every single year
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.05.14)
You are lucky to live in Israel and not to have to vote for 100 or 200 different political offices as American citizens do. Not only President, Senator and member of Congress. Governor, lieutenant Governor, Agriculture, Insurance, Transportation commissioners, Attorney General, Tax assessor, various County commissioners, judges, Mayor, city councilmen and dozens of other positions.
