2. A thought for Israel's future.
Daniel   (12.02.14)
As the so-called peace process is off the table in any case, Israelis can for once ignore that issue. So here what's best for Israel. Finally make a government that makes Israel a JEWISH country for ALL JEWS. That means removing all special benefits for the Haredim and doing away with the out-dated system of Haredi chief rabbis. Lieberman, Bennet, Lapid, Tzivni and Heerzog should form a coalition without Likud, with the Haredi parties and without the loony left. A stable, centrist government that can agree on reforming Israeli society and the economy, and make sure that all Jews do military service, and that everybody work for their living, no more financial gifts to people who refuse to work and refuse to serve the country. Make Israel a modern, Jewish state instead of the backward Middle-Eastern theocracy the Haredim and Likud want to make it.
3. It's about time!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.02.14)
Livni and Lapid violated every known principle of courteous behavior. We expect childish behavior from Tibi and Zoabi, but members of the government coalition really should strive to work together. Prime Minister Netanyahu bent over backwards to accommodate both Livni and Lapid, and gave them every conceivable opportunity to clean up their act. They did not, so it is time for them to go. The State of Israel has experienced a drastic swing to the right in the past two years. Lapid was a one-time experiment, and it failed. Livni has been a disaster for a very long time.. The outcomes of new elections are going to surprise a great many people.
4. finally!
david ,   Montreal,Canada   (12.02.14)
You can't lead without a leader. That was the right choice.

6. HALLELUYAH PRAISE THE LORD
tTEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (12.02.14)
Livni is a traitor ,an internal enemy and she is as dumb as they come. Lapid is an idiot who has little life experience. Netanyahu should have fired these two losers long ago. Israelis can all breathe a huge sigh of relief.
7. PISS OFF LIVNI

Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.02.14)
11. Netanyahu had no other choice left
CJK   (12.02.14)
it is not possible to govern when ministers in the government incessantly and publicly criticize the prime minister. such criticism is even more unacceptable when the country is being threatened, bullied, harassed by foreign actors. let the people decide.
12. Lisa Kalman Mazuz, FB
CJK   (12.02.14)
it is up to the people to vote and decide who should be prime minister.
13. fired by Nethanyahu...
Benny ,   London   (12.02.14)
there is no bigger accolade than that. He himself should be tried for treason and the destruction of the Jewish state of Israel.Hope Sara has started packing so that the two of them can retire to eat ice cream together in Casarea.
14. MAZAL TOV! Excellent move! If this will be for good
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.02.14)
elections might not even be necessary.
15. Wow, it took Bibi 2 years to realize the snakes he's got in
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.02.14)
his coalition. Better late than never.
16. #5, But compared to your Obummer, very tidy.
Jake   (12.02.14)
Everything is relative, as they say,
17. not enough mandates
(12.02.14)
The only reason Likud does not have enough mandates is Netanyahu. In the last two elections, he did everything he could to attack Likud. No attacks on Lapid, none on Livni, just cursing the Zionist wing led by Feiglin and Dannon. But these elections are fateful. The last war showed how defenseless Israel is from Arab attack from Judea and Samaria, and how the Left isn't capable of understanding reality. Despite this, Netanyahu still supports Abbas, Lapid/Herzog/Livni still attack Bibi from the Left, and there are still Israeli voters who plan to vote for the Left.
18. Bibi the best
Bibi Melej Israel ,   Panama   (12.02.14)
Bibi not perfect, but is the only politician capable of leading Israel at this time. He will win the elections.
19. Great news!
arne ,   chicago usa   (12.02.14)
Go for it Bibi--You're in charge--you will win and Israel will be better off without them.
20. Obama will pull out all stops to have Netanyahu defeated..
Al   (12.02.14)
NETANYAHU WILL BE DEFEATED FOR THE FOLLOWING REASONS. 1) The useless schooners Haredi will work to defeat him, for he tried to pull the tit out of there mouths. 2) Obama will pour on the money to support anyone who can defeat Netanyahu. 3) Netanyahu is and has been a failed PM in every way possible for two times 1996 and now. People are tired of him, his schtick and his wife. People vote with their pocket book. Netanyahu has failed and Israel will end up voting for a 'left to suicide' government. Good luck to you all!
21. hehe...hehe...Bigot SPIT is eating his heart out!
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (12.02.14)
22. What I always
Hakim ,   Palestine   (12.02.14)
admired about Israel was their unity through thick and thin. This debacle shows that Israel is spiraling down the toilet.
23. Israelis in the "diaspora" will be happy to see Bibi depart.
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.02.14)
He has made it a profession to be the PM, something that is completely against democracy. This has been a long-term disaster for Israel and anything coming as a result of the forthcoming elections will be an improvement. The best will be if the Centrist secular block comes to power, in my opinion.
24. I hope Bibi comes out on top
Jake ,   Jerusalem   (12.02.14)
Bibi has been all out for Israel and our rights. He refused to bow down to Obama and Kerry, he conducted a war that crushed Gaza while reducing the casualties on our side. our economy has expanded under him. I give him my blessing for a sound winning in the new elections.
25. #5 You write like a polak who has emptied too many beer cans
A ,   Belgium   (12.02.14)
and is still attempting to write a coherent sentence in a language that he will never hope to master. Back to the oinkers, Polakniak.
26. To: No. 20
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.03.14)
You vote basis your pocketbook? So it's all about you, huh? You really have no principles, do you? And you're offering up advice?
27. Lapid for PM
Miriam   (12.03.14)
28. #5 UNLIKE US, ISAREL HAS THE REAL DEMOCRACY WITHIN HIS LOYAL
IRANIAN JEW ,   LA USA   (12.03.14)
There would never be an election in USA if Obama fired his ministers or staff. He would just point another idiot to screw up more. Stop writing garbage for your own amusement. Your posts have no substance. You just write insults. Jews can always teach you a thing or two about life.
