So I assume he will be denouncing Sakhin endorsing a traitor who spied for Hezbollah.

He's not a politician. If he chooses to speak solely as a soccer player, and to avoid commenting on political matters, then that is his right. If he chooses to speak only as a football player, and makes no attempt to drag in non-football politics, then he is not required to speak about non-football politics. He is speaking in the context of an official IFA disciplinary hearing against Maccabi due to obnoxious fan chants that target him, personally, on the basis of his ethnicity. He's not asking for anything that would hurt Israel. Eliminating idiotic chants like "Tuameh is a terrorist" at football games will not harm Israel. In fact, it will improve the Israeli football experience for the majority of fans who don't support these bigoted chants.
