1. Keep Dreaming
Sasson ,   Haifa, Israel   (12.08.14)
The left is loathed by a majority of Israelis.
2. The sky is falling!
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.08.14)
No, not really. Please do not forget that Likud has an instant coalition with Bayit Yehudi and Yisrael Beiteinu. And, quite likely, with Kahlon's new party. Herzog-Livni union cannot make a government. And every time Livni opens her mouth, people are reminded why they cannot stand her.
3. in your dreams.

4. Tzipi...
Jennie ,   Israel/US   (12.08.14)
Those who can see a State's women in Tzipi, may possibly deserve to have her represent them.. Just following her actions and speeches, makes her diagnosis clear...Not only would she bring deep disappointment and great damage to the State of Israel, but endless and deep embarrassments...Her dreary unfitting looks alone "speak" volumes..Let alone her actions..If G-d forbid elected, she'll do anything she wants...She'll have a free ticket to bring Israel to a new low, the Jewish State has never experienced...
5. Even in advanced mathematics two zeros do not ONE make!

6. Of course they would if you just poll

the radical Left
7. ...just not Bibi or Bennett....
Mike ,   Israel   (12.08.14)
8. So what? Then Bibi and Bennet with run on a joint list
Logic ,   Israel   (12.08.14)
and get around 40 mandates, rendering the Labor-Livni tag team irrelevant.
9. At Israel's cost.
Steven Allsopp ,   UK   (12.08.14)
If Herzog and Livni take charge of the country, Israel is FINISHED!! They'll hand over Jerusalem on a silver platter and cave in to every demand in exchange for empty promises of peace from Abbas and his henchmen. They might very well cause a civil war is they try to uproot the communities in Judea and Samaria. Abbas and Hamas are already rubbing their hands with glee.
10. To No. 2.
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (12.08.14)
"Obama is so unpopular, he will not get the Democratic Party's nomination for the presidential election in 2012". Mmm .... but maybe you have invested in a better quality crystal ball this time.
11. Not enough votes to form a government. Fail.
Jake   (12.08.14)
12. Lets hope so.
Steven Allsopp ,   UK   (12.08.14)
Because the Center-Left will withdraw to indefensible borders and give up Jerusalem and the Western Wall. Livni, Herzog and Lapid will destroy Israel.
13. 2 losers don't make a winner!
gene ,   tlv   (12.08.14)
Livni already embarrassed herself by proving to be a bad leader, bad decision maker, and inept as a foreign minister. Herzog is a joke. period. His pathetic victory over his rival, Shelly Yechimovich- Israel's hysterical "Rosa Luxemburg," does not suffice as a measure of leadership skills.
14. Lesser Left and Right will form the new Center
Michael ,   California, USA   (12.08.14)
Hertzog and Liebermann can balance each other and join Livni and Lapid in the Center. A combined large Center party will dominate Israeli politics for many years starting in 2015. Citizens who left Israel in disgust because of the country's isolation in the world will start coming back and will build up the Israeli economy again. Teachers will get paid more than 4,500 shelels each month and the shekel will be stable against the Dollar and Euro. And most importantly, there will finally be realistic prospects for peace with security for Israel in the Middle East.
15. when the time is ripe Livni will stick a virtual knife right
JJJ   (12.08.14)
Netanyuo, I wrote many times in all kinds of talk back's telling you that when the time is ripe Livni will stick a virtual knife right deep in your back, and guess what the virtual knife is deep in your back. After all you are not the first that suffered livni's virtual knifing
16. Bertram, #10, Israeli politics works differently
Jake   (12.08.14)
There is no two-party system. In case you failed to catch it, there are many parties. One party can gain the largest number of votes, but if it fails to find enough coalition partners, it fails to form a government. Do the math. According to the poll, Likud has 21, Bayit Yehudi 18, Yisrael Beitenu 9, and Kahlon 9. That's 57, before even adding UTJ and Shas (8+7). Labor has 23, Meretz 6, Yesh Atid 9. That's only 38. And I highly doubt Yesh Atid would join a "center-Left" coalition if Labor and Meretz are thinking to bring on board the anti-Zionist Arab and Communist parties. Take your blinkers off, Bertie, it's not only Sarah that has noticed these simple facts.
17. bibi and livni have to go
hy   (12.08.14)
israelis are done with bibi, they had enough of his whining. Livni of course is like olmert, knows nothing about security along wiht lapid , kahlon(an ordinance officer in the idf like peretz), herzog and gal on. Livni gave away gaza and we got death. Livni trusts abbas but ignores him saying he wants to return 6 million arabs to israel. She accepts general allen's plan of sensors on the jordan valley which yaalon and any half wit would know is garbage. In short, livni is dumb as hell, the same as ynet and haaretz writers who imagine like peres some magic peace with arabs. They also share another trait- they are gutless to the core, kadmon especially, levy, verter, marcus, all totally gutless.
18. Moshe Feiglin
Albrecht Klein ,   Germany   (12.08.14)
He's the one to tell the world that they can't kick you around.
19. To No.16.
Bertram ,   London, UK.   (12.08.14)
In my 'blinkerdness' am I missing something here? Are we not talking about electoral predictions? You yourself say 'I highly doubt...' - enough said. Except under dictatorships, the most unpredictable things can happen. So, methinks you you should take your blinkers back - they are rightfully yours.
20. Bertram #19, the trends have not changed
Jake   (12.09.14)
The trend is that the number of self-identifying Leftists in Israel is dwindling. Poll after poll put them no higher than 13% of the electorate. The difference between the left and center is a huge gulf when it comes to legislation on the Jewish State. Lapid's party Yesh Atid supports such legislation, Livni & Herzog oppose it. Livni & Herzog won't be able to include a coalition with both Arabs and Yesh Atid, and even if they do, they still won't have enough mandates form a government.
