1. Why should Israel ...
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (12.21.14)
... always be reactive? Wouldn't it be a better policy to hit Gaza and hit it hard? Hamas, and other terrorist elements operating in the Gaza Strip, perceive Israel's patience as weakness. That emboldens them. There is something to be said for reminding Hamas just who controls the show. I would prefer a military solution -- air power only. No endangering Israeli troops, and punishing Gaza in a meaningful way. And -- for heaven's sake -- can we curtail shipments of concrete and cement, now that we know that they aren't being used for rebuilding homes and building new ones? The other best thing to do is to cut off all shipments of humanitarian aid. Israel must no longer provide free petrol, free electricity and free high-end medical care in Israel to Gaza. We need to seal the border. When the people of Gaza decide they have had enough, they will rise up against their so-called "leadership." The best way to hasten that moment is to cut Gaza off completely. There is no shortage of Israeli citizens who need help, and even food, so why are we feeding Gaza terrorists at the expense of Israeli civilians? Why are we providing expensive medicines to the people of Gaza while there are Israelis who must choose between purchasing food or purchasing medicine? Let someone else pick up the slack. The people of Gaza are not Israel's problem, except to the extent that they send their children to Hamas schools and Hamas summer camps, and ensure the raising of yet another generation bent upon the destruction of the State of Israel and the extermination of the Jews. Israel should respond to terror from Gaza with force. That will send the message that Israel is not to be toyed with far better. The Gazans need to suffer, and suffer greatly. Perhaps then they will do something about Hamas. Wasn't that the Allies' reason for carpet bombing German civilians? Wasn't that the United States' reason for destroying Hiroshima and Nagasaki -- and so many civilians? It worked, though, didn't it?
2. To nr. 1.
Sjoerd van der Velde ,   Hoorn, Holland   (12.21.14)
Yes, "islam" "hamas" and everything that has to do with it needs to be punished and destroyed for their committed crimes.
3. EUs warped thinking
Sammy ,   Newcastle   (12.21.14)
Two days ago Hamas BOASTED that the EU had granted 'Technical Recognition as the first step toward Full Recognition' So did Hamas see this as an EU Green Light to launch a Rocket Attack on Israel the following day and so risk inflicting yet another PROMISED conflict on the Gaza people before they have had any chances to recover? Everyone KNOWS EU even suggesting any recognition without conditions and any reference to the shocking Hamas treatment of Gazans, their aggression and terrorism, their charter that Hamas use as an excuse to perpetuate war indefinitely - is taken by Hamas to mean yet again obscenely as nods and winks and by doing so the EU brazenly and sickeningly BETRAY . THE GAZAN PEOPLE Because to the EU to show their 'concern' over Palestinians it seems that its so much easier to simply blame Israel, keep quiet over Hamas rocket attacks and totally ignore the corruption, the terrorism, the racism, the executions, the lies, the double speak of this bunch of criminals masquerading as a Political Party
4. Yes indeed Sarah @#1
Israeli 2   (12.21.14)
I agree with you completely. My question is: "Why has it not been done?" Does the Israeli leadership not have the simple logic you just provided? Is our leadership at fault? Are we merely another State of America in the Middle East?
5. Bombing & games will not alter Gaza, #4
Cameron ,   USA   (01.05.15)
The enemy forever preps and festers on your very doorstep. Inflicting pain through air attack, or waiting for internal uprisings is futile. Full-scale ground invasion and occupation. Only a question of time before the endless rocket wars and nonsense finally drag you to that inevitable move.
