1. Lovely story, I must say

Of course, my parents (z"l) were from Poland. The Poles only robbed them blind and then turned them over to the Gestapo. My father was the sole survivor of a family of nine children, lots of aunts and uncles, grandparents, and even one great-grandparent. My mother was the sole survivor of a family of eight children, lots of aunts and uncles, all four grandparents and all great-grandparents. So let's not get all teary-eyed over a German town just yet, shall we? Think six million innocent Jews, and wonder about the devastation their deaths left behind to those family who survived, assuming anyone did. A street sign in a German town just doesn't begin to cover it. Sorry. They're probably only schnorring for money, anyway. That's what they all do. Take what they can from you while you're alive, and even more after you're dead. Never lose sight of that.

Geee..., i guess life is lights and shadows.

No. Germany is pitch black all the time. For that matter, isn't all of Europe nothing more than a giant Jewish cemetery? There are crimes against the Jewish people for which there will NEVER be atonement. Naming a street in a small village after a Jewish couple which the villagers cheerfully sent to their deaths is a slap in the face. Were I the family, I'd have said, "Thanks, but no thanks."
4. I never met fathers and mothers families
DOV ,   USA   (12.23.14)
Because they were killed by the nazis but they never taught me to hate Germans. I think this a great story and I wish it were me. But please do not hate a nationality. I hate the nazis and the jew haters but not because they are german.
5. What to say..
Beary White ,   Norway   (12.24.14)
.. In the mindset of guilt Germany will forever help Israel in the best way. This is the untold situation. The words forget or forgive do not make any meaning in the coming generations... The Holocaust will never be forgotten, and wlll forever be tagged to Germany, as also to all those who collaborated in the European countries. In Norway, the police inspector Knut Roed was in charge of the actions against the Jews, but was completely acquitted in Norwegian court after the war. The Labor Party was in the sitting government, before, during and after the WW2.... And THAT must also be remembered, and cannot be forgiven or forgot. I know a nice place to take a piss..
