1. PRESS FOR PERES
connie mack ,   camden   (12.22.14)
The timing is of major significance. The orchestration is a key to achieving the desired impact. I predict that at the right time, Mr. I. Herzog, Ms. Livni and Mr. Peres will assemble a news conference and announce that Mr. Peres will be third, or second on the Labor list of candidates and will serve as Foreign Minister in the Herzog-Livni-Peres Government. Just a thought.
2. The Butcher from Oslo should forever hold his "peace"!
(12.22.14)
3. The Pot Calling the Kettle Black
Debbie ,   Jerusalem, Israel   (12.22.14)
How come the only time anyone is interested in the poor people is when an election is looming? Ah! They suddenly remember that the poor people can vote!!
4. The poor
Mordechai ,   Beit Shemesh   (12.22.14)
Elsewhere on this website is the report about the NIS 13m. to Samaria visitor center. More money that the poor need, but is being spent on a white elephant, (who will visit it when it part of Palestine?), something that should be funded entirely from private donations. Or tax only the settlers for all the expense that they want us to spend on them, let them pay for everything they need themselves and not the poor and needy of Israel. Let all those who support this center and by extension the Settlers fund the center. if they don't have the funds so don't build it, The decision whether to build the center when compared to the daily search to find the money to buy something to eat today is both ludicrous and disgusting, and even more so in light of the new report.
5. Moran and Omri - Peres worshippers
Beno   (12.22.14)
Thank you extreme left-wing journo-shmournos for your "news story".
6. The 2 million that was wasted on his B-day couldve fed 1000s
Scott ,   Ramat Gan, Israel   (12.22.14)
Peres is a hypocrite. He cries for the poor yet had the government & JNF waster 2 million shekels ($450,000) on his 90th birthday. In addition, the budget of the President's Residence rose by millions of shekels under his term and reached around 60 million shekels - 3 times as much as a decade ago. Netanyahu has done a lot including raising, the min. wage, legislated the free education law from the age of three and saved 800 shekels to families per child, lowered cell phone rates and many other things. A labor led government will chase businesses out of Israel with high taxes.
7. dreams
Anne ,   York - England   (12.22.14)
someday i will marry peres
8. Peres should not be so arrogant with Natanyahu comments
Tova ,   Canada   (12.22.14)
Israel always takes action rather to improve lives in Israel and around the world. Peres should ashamed. Poverty in Israel is a growing concern. People must be aware of the numbers. Israel receives millions from Jews & Christians around the world. Publishing the numbers tell the donors where the need is. Good for Natanyahu, Bad for Peres.
9. While I respect his long service to Israel..
Malone ,   Hfx   (12.22.14)
..I think he should shut the hell up and keep his leftie comments to himself..he's helping no one with his nonsense
10. Likud forgot Bibi's ice cream expenses
Ted   (12.22.14)
If Bibi cares about Israel's economy, why call for early election that costs billions over his personal feelings.
11. HATS OFF TO PERES
tTEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (12.22.14)
WELL SAID . Prime Minister Netanyahu could care less about the poor in Israel. Shame on him....
12. NETANYAHU HAD HIS CHANCE
tTEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (12.22.14)
The poverty in Israel is disgraceful.
13. It was the Left that caused the poverty
Lemmings Hotline ,   sd usa   (12.22.14)
by cutting funding to yeshivas and now they are the ones crying about it, trying to get a little political mileage from it . Not so fast, honey buns.
14. Multi Billionaire Where did he get his $ ?
MysteryMan ,   Jerusalem Israel   (12.22.14)
15. It's only Netanyahu's fault because he allowed
(12.22.14)
the vile Lapid to be finance minister and take away money from children to line his own pocket and those of other ministers. That's what you get when you have wicked, hateful ministers in your government.
16. keep opening your mouth Peres
Brian ,   London   (12.22.14)
the anger and violent words vented in these talk backs are indicative of the type of society evolving in Israel, courtesy of the irresponsible leader Nethanyahu, whose priority it has been to save his PM seat for himself and his wife Sara Antoinette. Very worrying how far some go when they do not agree with someone else's viewpoint. Rabin they killed - time for a major shake up in Israel and let's hope it's on it's way soon... thank you Shomin Peres for never giving up and may you live a long and healthy life.
17. Not under my watch!
tiki ,   belgium   (12.22.14)
Funny that while President Peres was flying around the world making media statements of how much the 'moderate Palestinians want peace, celebrating a lavish 90th. birthday, getting prizes & honours all over the world, he conveniently forgot the hungry children at home.
18. Peres` fortune should be used to compensate Oslo victims
Chaim ,   Israel   (12.22.14)
All of Peres`very considerable fortune should be confiscated, from him, and used to help the tens of thousands of Israelis maimed and murdered by his criminally negligent Oslo Disaster.
19. BOGEYMEN AND HUNGRY KIDS
tTEL EM STRAIGHT ,   SAFED OBVIOUS   (12.22.14)
Nuttyahu needs to devote more time and energy to hungry and poor israelis rather than wasting his time on the iranian bogeyman.
20. oy shimale.....
oded ,   usa   (12.23.14)
when will you just stfu and leave the stage already/ the damage you've caused is irreversible ,and yet you are still at it.... pathetic.
21. Peres Reprimanding Bibi
Edna Mendelson ,   Montreal, Canada   (12.23.14)
I have the greatest respect for Peres' contribution to Israel and its building. However, as past president of the country, he should have continued addressing himself in a presidential manner and rather than singling out one leader, one party, he should have said that poverty is the collective shame of the country without pointing to one specific person..
