It is so very hard not to read this article without a massive emotional lump in the throat. It is heart rending but so marvelous at the same time. Perhaps the most important message that I have taken from it is the dedication and loyalty to the state by, not only the mother to her adopted nation but the secular and non religious aspect; a clear indication that you do not have to be a "Yeshiva Barucha" to have such an intense love for Israel. Her children and grandchildren have and will continue to bring great "Nuchus" to her and all those Jews who become aware of this story. I can only hope that this article will shame some if not all the ultra orthodox who choose to be on the side lines when Israel is under threat.....their so called prayers are for naught against bullets and bombs.
