Zechariah   (01.13.15)

63. To Michael #46
Steven ,   Rockville MD USA   (01.14.15)
Just how do you know that Abbas was expressing his and the Muslim's grief? He is leader of a organization executed many acts of killings. Naturally knowing you, killing of Israelis is not a crime in your twisted moronic mind, as your previous talk-backs constantly proved. As for the article about the PM, it is a disgrace.
64. The real disgrace ...
NilsG ,   Helsingborg, Sweden   (01.14.15)
... was representatives of non-democratic states with no free press marching in fake solidarity with Charlie Hebdo. Regardless of your view of Bib, he was there as a representative of a country with free press.
65. Shiffer's shameless criticism in the wake of a tragedy
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.14.15)
66. Shimon Shiffer: Natanyahu's shameful behavior in Paris
Ron Ofeck ,   Englewood NJ, USA   (01.14.15)
The author is an idiot for criticizing Bibi. The nature of the attack and the reaction of the French dictated that he appear to be forceful and strong in the face of Anti-Semitism and apathy of the Jewish nature of the attack by the French.
67. Shame on Hollande
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (01.14.15)
With jews targeted for being jews, the Israeli prime minister should be the first one to be invited, whether the French like him or not. Netanyahu should have been on the first row next to Hollande. At the ceremony in the synagogue Hollande left early, he couldn't stand the jews being gratefull to the Israeli prime minister who came to stand by their side. This column blames Netanyahu, it should blame Hollande. Netanyahu stood up when Hollande wanted him on his knees.
68. Where was Tunisia ?
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (01.14.15)
With one tunisian citizen killed, how comes Tunisia was not represented ? OK, I forgot it was a jewish tunisian citizen that was killed.
69. Abbas
Serge ,   Antwerp, Belgium   (01.14.15)
What a stupidity of the French to invite Mahmoud Abbas only because Netanyahu was attending. If they wanted to have Abbas, they could have invited him on his own right, but they invited him to "punish" Netanyahu. What a childish behavior. It takes more guts than that to stand up against the terrorists.
70. Maybe it was a message of comfort
(01.14.15)
French Jews are under pressure and feeling it.Seeing Mr Netanyahu there and prominent sent the message that there's a a refuge where they'll be welcome.Surely that would be a comfort to people in a hard place. I'm more concerned about Hollande's shameful behaviour in inviting the tyrant Abbas and giving him such a prominent position, apparently out of a misplaced desire for 'balance'.It makes me suspect that any actions that the French Government takes to deal with Islamic terrorism will be 'balanced' by Israel-bashing and measures that undermine Israel's position. That IS what we have seen recently. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!

zionist forever   (01.14.15)
Why is it vulgar for Netanyahu to own more than one property? Why is it vulgar to like ice cream? Whenever an Israeli PM travels abroad it is official policy to charter a plane not send them on a commercial flight so why is it vulgar for Netanyahu? What is vulgar is Michelle Obama taking Airforce 1 to Europe for a shopping spree. You sound to me like a Natanyahu hating hardcore socialist.

So which anti Israel NGO do you represent?
73. Shiffer OpEd "shameful" Netanyahu
Nisan Jaffee ,   Efrat, Israel   (01.14.15)
I don't know Mr. Shiffer, nor do I know where he stands politically. What I do know is that I was very proud of PM Netanyahu. He SHOULD have been in the first row. And I couldn't care less about whether the French government wanted him there or not. I also question what States Mr. Shiffer is referring to that enjoy "freedom, harmony, and equality". If he's referring to France, I suggest he ask the French Jews who are abandoning that country in droves, for the country where Netanyahu is the PM.
74. Netanyahu in Paris
dikla ,   USA   (01.14.15)
Seriously? You really think anyone can plant him/herself anywhere in the row? the location and specific position in the lineup of each individual was planned and finalized by the 'handlers' before bibi even got on the plane. it is no accident that abbass was the same distance from the french/german duo as netanyahu and that neither was right next to the. I believe the writer of this article knows all this, so... this was simply an attempt to sully the name of netanyahu.
75. #46 the clueless one and reality are two extreme opposites
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (01.14.15)
76. #59: "Abbas is a terrorist"
Chutia ,   New Delhi, India   (01.15.15)
And what is Bibi? He can actually go for a walk in Gaza in memory of all the women and children he has murdered there
77. Netanyahu in Paris
elana ,   israel   (01.15.15)
It was also said that Netanyahu did not cover himself with enough security. It is mean to bring up such nastiness in your article. Netanyahu was one important leader and had a right to march in the front line, showing solidarity with our slain Jews. The smiling face of Abbas who incites for the death of Jews, also pushed himself into the front line. Bibi was not being "pushy" he was being an Israeli and I certainly was not embarrassed by his actions. Conspicuous by their absence were Obama and Putin. Now this is the shameful part. Abbas had no right to be there and, Obama and Putin should have been. Where did Abbas go, immediacy the march.... he went to Turkey, to Erdogan and you all heard Erdogan's views on the subject. The two biggest hypocrites on the planet,. Abbas and Erdogan.
78. Netanyahu's Paris march
Micha'el Bloch ,   Kochav Yair , ISRAEL   (01.18.15)
The bias of the author of this rediculous piece attacking our PM shews through from the first word to the last. Obviously a hater of the national camp - had it been "short-pants" Booji or Tzippinka - everything Netanyahu did would have been praised to the skies by the author-as bringing honour to Israel !
79. Bibi in Paris
nora ,   rome, italy   (01.19.15)
With all the balagan and the hatred and the danger against Israel from around the world you are slandering your prime minister. I believe that the issues today are by far more serious that these inappropriate remarks (which will delight Israel's enemies). Think before writing as the "return on investment" is always heavy for the Jews and for Israel. Shalom.
80. BIBi In Paris Unity March
S. Mastio ,   Monterey CA   (01.19.15)
Perhaps when France gets some clarity on who is the aggressor & who's the victim in Israel's quest to survive, the leader of the Mideast' sole democracy can relax. Til then Netanyahu has a right to elbow his way towards the basic courtesy which is his due. His motive is more than about politics & elections.
81. Criticism of Netanyu in Paris
Gisele Busch ,   Philadelphia, USA   (01.22.15)
I do not agree with your view that he behaved in an aggressive way by wanting to be in the front row during the march in Paris. After all 4 Jews were killed. It is shameful that the French did not invite him, probably too scared by their millions of Arabs. They invited Abbas who is a Terrorist, he also marched in the front row, that is disgraceful. His people kill Jews and he is honored to be with Western leaders.
82. Prime Ministaers
solly melzer ,   ramat hasharon   (01.24.15)
Both former Likud Premiers, Begin and Shamir, were suffering from acute mental problems by the time they left office. Sharon was a different case. He did a 180 degree turn from the life-long views he had held previously- -Some thought he had gone sane at last. Others were convinced he too had gone mental. As for no 4, Bibi, his erratic personal and political behaviour seems to be bordering on some kind of manic/depressive or bipolar condition.. Time will tell!. It won't be long now!
83. Bibi
Ridiculous ,   New york, usa   (01.25.15)
Shimon, you should be talking about the dusgraceful behavior of Hollande. Bibi did just the right thing re the Paris march. Hollande invited abbas, a major terrorist!!!!! I suspect Bollande would have invited hitler too!!!! Remember Vichy??!!
84. Netanyahu in Paris.
James Archer ,   Brooks, AB, Canada   (01.27.15)
I was watching the march on T V and I felt Mr N. Was enjoying the situation too much. He was happy with what had happened - not sad.
85. Netanyahu at the Paris March
malka benya ,   Jerusalem Israel   (02.07.15)
Netanyahu behaved like all Israelis - elbowed his way to the front. He waved to people on balconies. Big deal. So he's a bit coarse. His etiquette's not up to European standards. He defends us with great zeal and love of his people with increasing unpopularity from the European leaders and the American president. Despite their attempts to humiliate him he keeps on trying. Got to give him 10 out of 10 for his chutzpah. He's got my vote.
