1. Go to Israel!
Jason, Ph.D. ,   Charlotte, USA   (01.14.15)
Jews of the UK: Take your energy, your passion, and your wealth, and go to the Promised Land of Israel. Let the UK rot in its own stupidity.
2. No reason to play smart-alecks here: it takes long time to
(01.14.15)
internalize, that all one's forefathers and oneself have been building & dreaming of (as in :a future!) is coming to an abrupt end. I do pity people that are in that situation. I have been there myself. It's mindboggling, that it's ALWAYS the Jews, ALWAYS in the cursed Europe!
3. BBC Funeral coverage here
TheFoulFoulBBC ,   Jerusalem Israel   (01.14.15)
Of all the offensive insensitive people to send by the BBC to cover the funerals held in Jerusalem yesterday that the BBC saw fit to send its most anti Israel reporter the notorious Jeremy Bowen to cover it , as the mourners marched by him he began his "coverage" Israel founded in 1948 by European Jews" ( no mention that the murdered were Jews of Middle Eastern origin ) only "European Jews" and then began to delve into the politics of Israel snidly slamming Netanyahu . Bowen along with another hater of Israel Orla Goren should be on an Anti Semitic watch list, Bowen by the way has lived for years in Beirut with his Lebanese wife. Bowen made these evil remarks within inches of the mourners the foul foul foul BBC.
4. #whatisantisemitism
(01.14.15)
seriously can anyone tell specifically what antisemitism is??? Because if I make fun of Jews characteristics it's my right for freedom of expression as I make fun of Christians and Muslims and most of all as I make fun about myself
5. I have NEVER experienced "anti semetism". I'd hate to be a
Claude ,   London   (01.14.15)
muslim in the UK. I completed this survey that we are referring to and the questions were so vague that there was only really one answer to sway the result and I am disappointed with this tactic. Vague questions like have you ever known anyone or yourself to experience a form of anti semetism ever. Answer including seeing anything anti semetic online was there. I mean come on..
6. To number 4
Dov ,   London   (01.14.15)
Open a copy of the Oxford Dictionary or google antisemitism maybe. Your comment about Jewish Characteristics that you make fun of possibly means perhaps if you look in the mirror you'll see an anti-semite.
7. Suggesting mass Aliyah doesn't really help, israel isnt for
David ,   tel aviv/ London   (01.14.15)
everyone. If it wasn't a jewish state it's technically the same as asking people to leave developed 1st world countries to go and live in Albania or Romania. You either have patience and human strength to go back in quality of life in almost all aspects by 10/20 years or not. Answers to the above on a fax please. Other olim will understand the fax pun.
8.  Poll?Dont make me laugh
ky   (01.14.15)
Its a fact that the majority of Britain's Jews are secular. The vast majority being the descendants of East End Jews arriving in the country at the turn of the century. Over the years the descendants have blended into British society without having any formal links with Judaism although still remaining Jews. They are Jews and there is no arguing with it. Despite not attend schul or belong to any Jewish organization. How can it be that they were polled? The poll only came from those who attend schul ie frum Jews who have a very different outlook. If you asked the majority you would get a very different result. Unfortunately there is no way you can so really its not a poll that has any relevance.
9. #8 best talkback here. Totally agree.

10. A word of caution
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (01.14.15)
There are other factors to consider. Many British people, generally, would consider leaving the UK because of the mess that the previous New Labour government left behind. Also, most British Jews have the misery of living in London, probably know more about Israel than the rest of Britain and would rather go to a place they know about. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
11. No. 7. David
Madeleine ,   Israel   (01.14.15)
I see you give your address as Tel Aviv/London. I don't know - or much care - how long you lived here but thanks for pointing out all the negative aspects of life here. Obviously you had bad experiences so please stay away from Israel. We who love this country are only too aware of them. How about pointing out some of the great aspects of life here: the feeling of camaraderie and 'one large family' in the face of national crises, the amazing hi-tech industry we have - not for nothing is Israel known as the Start-up nation of the world. We are leaders in medicine and agriculture, experts in water and export our technology to many under-developed countries. We are world leaders in security. Our health system is far superior to the NHS in Britain ( I not only grew up in the UK but have friends and family living there with whom we compare notes) . Israel is very much a family-oriented society, unlike Britain where I recently read in one British daily that Britain has the dubious honour of being the foremost leader in Europe for one-parent families. And your slur using the fax analogy is insulting to a country that has been at the forefront of many inventions in the electroncs field, without which your communications ability would today be seriously stymied.
12. If you don't like it move. Stop whining. You have
Jim   (01.14.15)
a choice. Some people aren't happy unless their whining.
13. Doc you know the saying don't you?
(01.14.15)
racists have no humor Meaning if you can't get a joke or a criticism about Jews or Judaism then you're probably unable to joke about yourself. So I am an antisemitie because I make fun of Jews ( and others)? So be it. The problem is that you cried antisemitism so many times that it bearly has any meaning today. And dear Dov, so as you'll know, I live in Israel
14. For @4 what is antisemtism
Raoul Schur ,   Israel   (01.14.15)
The only problem I have with your argument is that in the case of jokes etc against Jews is that it ends up with pogroms, Holocaust, you name it. Zero tolerance to antisemitism!!
15. For David @7
(01.14.15)
Albania or Rumania? Is this some kind of a joke? And israel ten to twenty years behind? Second in high tech etc in the world. You don't expect to be taken seriously of course!!!
16. To: No. 12
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.14.15)
Well, the same would hold true for militant Islamists in Europe, wouldn't it? If they're not happy, shouldn't they just leave for greener pastures?
17. To: No. 15
Sarah B ,   U.S.A. / Israel   (01.14.15)
Actually, judging by patents issued and internationally recognized, tiny Israel is No. 1 in information technology. Moreover, fully seventy percent of all chemotherapy protocols in use throughout the world today were developed in Israel. And when the state of California suffered the worst drought seen in the United States since the Dust Bowl, the Californians didn't go running to Europe. They came straight to Israel. Just sayin'.
18. to number 13
Dov ,   London   (01.14.15)
I don't find antisemitism funny. I don't like racist comments about Jewish characteristics. My grandparents came to London from Jedwabne. Why don't you google my family's village and maybe you'll see why I don't find any of this debate at all amusing. If you live in Israel then it's more acceptable to joke about these things amongst a Jewish majority but in London and elsewhere in the world it's not so funny sorry to ruin your entertainment.
19. 11 @ Madelaine
Birdi ,   Israel   (01.14.15)
Very well said. Kudos to you.
20. At 15. Whats point inventing technology if not used locally?
Deborah   (01.15.15)
I take it you dont live in Israel or watch some of our comsumer action tv shows. Gotta problem, fax it in and see what happens. That guy at 7 had some good points.
21. 17, its great to get patents and technology, but
Tour guide   (01.15.15)
why not use it locally? checks and faxes are the form. we make the money and sell to where we make money we do make some great med but fall down with technology, banking and so on.
22. The goy keeps the Jew Jewish....
Al   (01.15.15)
Were it not for the goyim who keep reminding us that we are god damn Jews, we would have assimilated a long long time ago. Were it not for that blasted holocaust, we would never have an Israel. The Rabbis would have kept us in the Ghettos waiting for the Messiah. In fact they were Jews who once upon a time ago insisted the Messiah had arrived...they became the Christians, who became our biggest enemy till the Arabs of today arrived on the scene. Lesson to be learned...nowhere to run nowhere to hide. Be proud..be strong...Be a strong proud Jew.
23. 18 so we are back to square one
(01.15.15)
you don't like joke about antisemitism (whatever that means) I keep asking you: define antisemitism. The problem is that you find any comments, joke or criticism that doesn't suit you antisemitic. It's kind of confusing. So it's ok to kid about Islam and Muslims but antisemitic to make fun about Jews???
24. To 23
Dov ,   London   (01.15.15)
Antisemitism is the pathological hatred of Jewish people. It is the prejudice and discrimination against Jews. If you have never experienced this and you are Jewish then perhaps you are very fortunate and left the diaspora at a very young age and now live in Ramat Aviv or a neighbourhood like this where you have been sheltered. Antisemitism is more rare in Israel since it is a Jewish majority country however it certainly is there amongst a very small minority of Non-Jewish immigrants from the former USSR and also amongst some Christian and Muslim Israelis. I assume you do not speak Russian or Arabic if you did you would also be exposed more to this even in Israel. As a diaspora Jew of Polish stock I personally do not find antisemitism amusing but maybe I'm just old fashioned.
25. Within 20 years, US Jews will have that feeling
Chaim ,   Israel   (01.17.15)
The march of history is inevitable. Much as some would like to deny it. Jews have only one real home.
26. THE cartoons
Sherlock Holmes ,   London England   (02.01.15)
When the Danish cartoons first appeared, no UK newspaper printed them. The British official blasphemy Law only protects Christianity, but the press tend to voluntarily avoid insulting cartoons of Mohamet, which most of us think is the courteous thing to do. I don't recall seeing any cartoons of the Jewish vision of G-d either. It's just politeness, a rare quality for the media.
27. Rise of antiSemitism
Noevil9 ,   US   (02.27.15)
Remember, that Anti Semitism is different now, instead of being people who choose to hate/ dislike Jews, Antisemitism now , is those people who he Jews hate because they peak out.
