I think Lieberman is right, but he is still being incredible stupid. Worse, he is being harmful to Israel. Showing some sympathy MIGHT have at least a slightly positive impact. Showing scorn NEVER has a positive impact, even if it is right. Lieberman of course only does this as part of the election campaign, but the said thing is that it once again shows he is quite happy to put his personal interests ahead of Israel's interest.
