I showed this film every year I taught US History or Government classes. Some years, I required parent permission for students to watch it- the film is such an overwhelming spectacle of human degradation, especially for 16 year olds.
My understanding is that the narration of Trevor Howard, corrosive in its indignation, was added years latter to the silent footage that Hitchcock had assembled. I can't imagine what the new footage could possibly add that wouldn't send the viewer over the edge to numbness.
I'll add that, over the years I have become less of a supporter of the state of Israel, but, this film should be seen by everyone.
