1. Both offers Lead Civilian war both sides.
Zechariah   (02.06.15)
The centre left and the centre right cannot deliver peace only better socioeconomic conditions for Jews and Arabs .Any offer will lead to civil war .Arafat could not accept the Barak -Clinton offer he said if he did he would be killed and the leaders afond him.Rabin was killed and they tried to get Peres as well.the best offer would be 60% of Judea and Samaria and 2400sq km of Islamic Israel and Abbas cannot accept anything less than 90% .Then there is the problem of Jihadi and Fatah Ba'ath pouring into Judea and Samaria .Then demilitarization and jerusalem .Hamas is for a truce only under these circumstance but Withou Demilitirization and that's Interim .
2. The Palestinians do not know how to help themselves
Shalom Freedman ,   Jerusalem Israel   (02.06.15)
All this is nonsense. They can win a few more propaganda points. But to really change their situation the Palestinians have to transform their attitude to Israel and really decide to live in peace with a Jewish state. Since no leader of theirs truly wants this and will work for this they remain in the same swamp.
3. All speculation
Mark ,   London, UK   (02.06.15)
Until we know the results of the next Palestinian general election we won't know the Palestinians' views. Can anyone remind me when it's due?
4. PLO
(02.06.15)
In the last 6 years, PLO has received a lot from Netanyahu: building freeze on Jews, massive illegal Arab building, and agreement to establishment of an Arab state. The gravy train fell apart less than a year ago when Israel required that any agreement be the end of the conflict and refused to accept limitless Arab immigration into what was left of Israel. If Netanyahu is elected, it is unlikely that Livni will be chief negotiator again, and it is likely Israel won't make more massive concessions. Since Herzog and Livni blame only Netanyahu and not Abbas, if the radical Left is elected they will have no choice but to do one of two things: either they will agree to limitless Arab immigration or they will make a swift unilateral withdrawal from Judea and Samaria, like they did from South Lebanon and Gush Katif. These types of irrevocable steps are popular with the Left to impose their toxic vision on innocent victims
5. Getting sanctions on Israel vs. getting a freeze
Sam ,   Canada   (02.06.15)
The Palestinian choice boils down to having a better chance of Western sanctions on Israel with Netanyahu in power or getting a building freeze with Herzog in power. All in all not much changes because there is no change in attitude from the Palestinians. They are focused on finding a way to replace Jewish rule in Israel with Muslim rule.
6. Real Democracy?
Bill ,   Skokie U.S.A.   (02.06.15)
"The Palestinians public is growing increasingly interested in the elections, though they attribute little to no significance to the actual results which they believe will not lead to a change on the ground." There is a large portion of the population that could make a difference if they vote for the UNITED ARAB PARTY. If this party were to win the most seats and be given the task of forming the next government would things be different. This is something that challenges the Israeli public to consider. Place the United Arab list in power and see if they govern with the best interests of the State as a whole. I think everyone would be pleasantly surprised! Given the chance, people will rise to do whats best, when doing the best everyone is what they are remembered for. A legacy is what makes history, and not what repeats history! Do you want to change things for real? Try this!

No I am not proposing the P.A. be replaced I propose Netanyahu be replaced. There is a large portion of the Israeli population (Arab Israelis) that have never been given the chance to govern or even be part of a governing coalition. I propose allowing these representatives the opportunity to lead the state of Israel not the PA.
