1. NO! NO! A thousand times NO! Jerusalem is a holy city and
Rivkah   (02.09.15)
must not be defiled by flaunting sodomy or women with wanton eyes or apparel. Isaiah the Prophet warns that three sins will lead to an attack on Jerusalem that from the description is nuclear. Those sins are flaunting of sodomy (gay parades, etc.), women with wanton eyes and cheating the poor. Women MUST be modestly attired in Jerusalem and NOT WEAR make up that is wanton looking and garish. They must be sober minded and modestly attired, even in makeup to be in Jerusalem.
2. It's not the "women", it's the bloody government that should
(02.09.15)
remove this garbage from our streets. OUR streets, not the streets of haredim or Russians or Ethiopians: it's OUR bloody streeets and OUR government.
3. mind your own business
gimme a break ,   jlem   (02.09.15)
It's not like they put the signs in Baka. Lay off and let people do what they want in their own communities - what business is it of yours? Those signs are more if an institution in this city than that retarded ugly bridge they wasted millions on
4. #3
Michael ,   Israel   (02.09.15)
So you would have no objections, if people in my own local community were to decide to prohibit the entry of haredim into our community, given that the haredim offend our sensibilities.
5. Misleading title
Marian ,   Romania   (02.09.15)
Should read: SOME women ...... PS:BRAVO RIVKAH
6. modesty in jerusalem
ima ,   Israel   (02.09.15)
As if these activists are walking every day through these neigbourhoods! Be a Roman in Rome and live and lets live! Ima
7. Why pick fights?
Shtoky ,   Dublin   (02.09.15)
The Chareidim have been in that neighborhood for 200 hundred years and have been living that way for many more hundreds. Why go into their neighborhood and demand they change? What's the point? We don't need more division in Israel. Drop it.
8. The only place where nudity still...
ORA ,   JERUSALEM,   (02.09.15)
has effect on men, interests these unexciting women.
9. #1 "cheating the poor. "
A ,   Belgium   (02.09.15)
Well, that eliminates most of the orthodox politicians.
10. They are of the Jewish Lord's "My Beloved"
W ,   Jerusalem   (02.09.15)
These signs particularly are located on the northern side of Jerusalem, the old walled city, the Old City today, designated as one of the meanings of Zion in the Jewish Scriptures. They are a one of many such communities and particular because their location is designated as one of the names of Zion. Jerusalem and Mt. Zion also share the name of Zion. Before Israel can be a "Light unto the nations", Zion has to be addressed and not be blasphemed. Remember Israel and Judah, the sisters. They're heeding the call of their Lord and coming back to Hashem. They remember what their descendants taught them about the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They love the Lord with all their heart, mind, strength and spirit they try help their brother in need to be Torah observant. More is being asked of them. They are in mourning for the world that's been lead astray and finds itself not in Shalom. They try and do things to show their dedication and good to the Holy One of Israel. They know the good and they have found outstanding ways. They do not want war. You can't blame them but somebody might have to fight sometimes. It's tread. Some of these people have joined the military and served the country honorably. They know, no matter what people, going to war isn't something somebody wants to do and they are doing everything possible, praying of course is one of them, that the Shalom will come. They heed Rachel's cry for the purpose of and to make it the land of milk and honey. Be delicate with them. They love Hashem and they're showing their love for HaShem for all the right reasons. They are looking to follow Jewish instructions for the good and for the righteous. They're doing their part to bring the Redemption. Their signs even include, "We beg you to follow these instructions because we are a God fearing, God believing community." They're trying to do all the good of the Torah. Why to they need to be approached like this? It's like they are intentionally and deliberately being provoked for no good reason. These signs are like a feather in their cap. They are encouraged not to turn themselves into things of this world like there are things of this world in Tel Aviv. They are more than what just appears to the eyes. You have to understand their love. They're looking for the peace on earth, the real peace. We're all loved by God and they're showing as best possible what God's love means in the goodness that they can live in their lives. Everyone should always try to do better and it helps when you can work as a community. What more could they do to help the nation and the world? God be with them.

12. #10 "Oh PLEASE"! I'm a Jew and no one ever instructed me
A ,   Belgium   (02.09.15)
to spit on a child or a Catholic priest because they believe in something different than I (BTW, I am a VERY secular Jew) . Where does it say in the Torah that "thou may lie and steal if you pretend to follow my commandments" (Deri, for example). How many cases of wife beating and child abuse are hidden within the confines of the ultra-orthodox ghettos? Believe me, I know of what I am speaking.
13. Democracy and freedom of speech in Israel
Secular are beoming ,   more intolerantdaily   (02.09.15)
is only for Leftists or the anti-Religious. Everybody else have to accept their secular filth.
14. Modesty
Nechama ,   Jerusalem   (02.09.15)
On the contrary, asking women to be a bit more discerning in their attire is actually increasing respect for the sensitivity of women. In fact, men could learn a thing or two about modesty also. Baring too much is actually vulgar.
15. Women offended by Modesty signs
debbyfayga ,   New York   (02.09.15)
Agreed if people living there don't like it, tough boogies, such is life- diversity is part of the world order, get a grip on it- if you cannot deal with life, get off the planet
16. To # 13
M. Davison ,   Ra'anana, Israel   (02.09.15)
Haredim have been discriminating against seculars for centuries. intolerance reeks in their dictats to the public, and their behavior has strayed so far from the ethics and principles of Judaism that they have, in the main, become more like cults than genuinely religious people. Maybe some day, their "leaders" and "sages" will take an honest look at the damage they have done both to Israel and to the way the workd looks at Jews, and understand that it's time to move into the 21st century, instead of remaining bogged down in the 17th.
17. the meaning of topless beaches
robert ,   antwerp Belgium   (02.09.15)
Well, there are some beaches in Yemen, Syria and Saudi Arabia that are today topless.... meaning that's where they chop heads off. Thank God the haredim who put up those signs are not the kind to chop heads off. They just want to protect their way of life in their neighbourhoods. If their women accept to be treated that way, who are we to impose a way of clothing in their neighbourhoods that they find offending? Live and let live! I don't even think hiloni families would even want to live in haredi neighbourhoods, so what's the big deal?
18. "OUR NEIGHBORHOOD" meaning I pirated the street, it's mine
Zionman & Zionese ,   America is beautiful   (02.10.15)
Israeli streets "belong" to ALL the ISRAELI people, NOT ONLY those who may live on or near that street! it's all heredi bred lawlessness, anarchy and morons pushing a childish, backwards harmful and anti-civil rights' moronic agenda WHERE IN THE HOLY TORAH DOES IT SAY attention:"ONLY CERTAIN, "more better" JEWS only ALLOWED here"?
19. Define Modesty / Immodesty
emanon ,   usa   (02.10.15)
The definition should NOT be based on a religious text, open to discussion anyway, but rather on prevailing public opinion. Modesty changes with the times.
20. #18 NO, it does not belong to immoral women & men
MM   (02.10.15)
let them just try parading as immorally dressed in Arab sections of the Jewish state.
21. ignore the signs
iselin ,   oslo   (02.10.15)
Who cares? Hey all you gorgeous young liberal women. Why not just go on these streets in miniskirts and halter tops and show the nutters what you think about their signs? Maybe you should carry a bag of tomatoes just in case they start throwing things.
22. 9 A., Belgium: Cheating the poor cuts through all economic
Rivkah   (02.11.15)
groups and cultures and divisions of society. Scriptures speaks of the poor cheating the poor, for example, as taking away all hope from the poor. So it is worse for the poor to cheat the poor than for the rich to, although all cheating of the poor by others is like smoke in HaShem's eyes. It is a great offense. When there was a famine long ago in Israel. a Prophet was sent to a poor widow's house and HaShem told the Prophet the poor widow would provide for him. All she had was enough for one meal for herself and her son, but she gave that to the Prophet when asked to. So HaShem multiplied her flour and oil so that she could sell it and survive the famine. Was the Prophet "cheating" the widow to ask for all she had? Since HaShem told him to do that, it was not cheating the poor but enriching the poor with HaShem's blessings. Determining what is cheating the poor is often difficult to discern.
23. 18 Zionman: The Torah says Jerusalem is a holy city.
Rivkah   (02.11.15)
HaShem claims ownership of certain places on earth even though He created the earth and owns it all. Jerusalem from satellite has the imprint of the Hebrew word YHWH engraves in the mountains and valleys, HaShem's holy name. It corresponds to the heavenly Jerusalem which is why it is plural (two Jerusalems). Other real estate HaShem claims as His personal property are the Great Pyramid of Giza, Mount Ararat, and I believe Elam which is Western Persia (Iran) since Ha Shem will set His throne in Elam while His Son has His throne in Jerusalem, Scriptures tells us. The Great Pyramid is the cornerstone of the earth, by the way.
24. REMOVE THE SPITTING HEREDI health hazard WHILE YOU'RE AT IT.
Jewish Doctor ,   ATLANTA GA USA   (02.11.15)
HEREDI CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO PIRATE A PUBLIC STREET WITH health hazard SPIT, AND SAY neighborhood BELONGS TO THEM AND only THEY ONLY ADMINISTRATE IT. ..PUBLIC THOROFARE DOESN'T BELONG TO THEM ON ANY 'PUBLIC STREET'. LET THEM BUY THE STREET, THEN THEY CAN BULLY and molest DEFENSELESS WOMEN AND WHOMEVER. Personally, if a horde EVER molested my spouse, as a 3rd degree brown belt, he'd be picking up his teeth with his broken hand and his bloody nose, with my fervent permission btw.
25. #22 "Determining what is cheating the poor is often
(02.11.15)
difficult to discern." Well, I suppose this fellow (and he is only one of many) will make discerning easier for you: "Former chief rabbi Metzger indicted for taking millions in bribes." Guess stealing while pretending to serve God is acceptable unless you get caught. Ask Rav Deri.
26. kovod hatorah
alan ,   jerusalem   (02.12.15)
a little bit of kovod hatorah jewish doctor without us learning you wouldn't be living!!!!!!
27. What god has created...
Tabetha ,   Barcelona, Spain   (04.06.15)
... is human beings born naked. I'm a 69 year old grandmother and have been brought up beyond religion - as a happy, free being and so have my children and grandchildren. The body is beautiful, the way we create children - sex - is beautiful otherwise god would have chosen a way to clone people not make them out of the love act. The base of all religion is love and understanding and as I see it now there is only one god - called the universe of love living within each of us. All "religions" are perversions of the original teachings, meant to surpress human beings and turn them into obeying sheep who can be made into slaves of priests and politicians. It's disgusting. There is nothing holy in religion. Holy is just the own inner morality, holy is the heart. Love is the answer.
