10. Legacy
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (02.22.15)
Obama will move mountains to give Iran the bomb. If only to stick a finger in Netanyahu and Israel's eye. But there's his legacy to consider. It isn't enough that obama has destroyed Yemen, Libya, Syria, Iraq and tried but failed to hand Egypt to his friends in the Muslim brotherhood. Now he want's to make sure Iran is rewarded with its bomb. What a legacy!
11. KERRY AT LAST TALKING TOUGH
EZEKIAL HAIM ,   LONDON UK   (02.22.15)
Obama and Kerry have weakened their negotiating position with Iran by openly creating a rift with Netanyahu and Congress. Its about time that Kerry and Obama start reinforcing their negotiating position by toughening their rhetoric and putting Iran on the back foot . Afterall Iran has more to loose from failure of negotiation than the USA or Obama himself.
12. Walk away? Really?
kapriza ,   tsafon   (02.22.15)
All smoke and mirrors! Obama just wants Bibi to think the crisis is averted so he doesn't have to go speak to Congress and spill the beans. Don't fall for that nonsense!
13. Bungling Bureaucrats' Dumbplomacy
joyce fraser ,   USA   (02.22.15)
Bungling Bureaucrats' Dumbplomacy and Political Correctness, continues to lead the world into an early grave. It defies logic, that our senior leaders and negotiators can be so naive, as to; 1. trust the current Apocalyptic-minded Iranian regime 2. permit so much stalling time without securing IRONCLAD, VERIFIABLE GUARANTEES, toward dismantling its Nuclear Capabilities. We must bear in mind at ALL TIMES, that the current Apocalyptic-minded Iranian regime, continues with its plans to force Sharia Law onto the entire world, as its 'holy Islamic Duty.'
14. Obama of course will find a basis for continuing discussions
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (02.22.15)
Talks were supposed to be completed November, 2013, but the P5+1 lead by the US satisfied themselves with a weak "interim" agreement, and granted themselves until June, 2014 to finalize the deal. But they couldn't come to agreement, so gave themselves until November - a year after initializing the interim deal. Then another seven months. Anyone see a pattern? Obama can't admit there is not a good deal to be had with Iran because Iran will give up nothing of substance. And Obama can't give up on diplomacy because not only will he have to admit failure but he'll have to press Iran hard, which will undermine his whole "bring Iran into the family of nations" strategy.
15. Even before the speech Netanyahu has already had an impact
Steve Benassi ,   Silver Bay, MN USA   (02.22.15)
16. he is lying to decive us. he will do anything to get iran s
ralph   (02.22.15)
Signing. Kerry cannot be trusted.
17. "Optimism" what is that?
markjuliansmith ,   Australia   (02.22.15)
"But Kerry warned against undue optimism." "Optimism" what is that? Haaa yes I remember now it is something we all had at the start of Obama's reign. Now we realise once again words to have any substance or worth no matter how divine the delivery and content must actually lead to something called a 'positive' outcome at least in some part reflective of the promise made. Alas 'optimism' that this will be the case with Obama or any of his administrative appointments or even theirs has vanished so Kerry be assured you have no need to worry we actually believe you or Obama can deliver anything but the opposite of what you promise.
18. Collaboration
Robert ,   New Jersey, USA   (02.22.15)
Knowing on one hand of the utter desperation obama has to reach a legacy-building deal while undermining the very purpose for Bibi's speech to Congress, and on the other hand, Iran's seeing the weakness of obama as the ticket to its joining the nuke club, the strategy of seeming to walk away from a nuke deal until Netanyahu decides there's no need to give his speech benefits BOTH obama and the ayatollahs. I fully expect this ploy to have been agreed upon during negotiations between Iran and the US. it serves the cynical ends of both nations to undermine Netanyahu, give Iran more delay time - and once Bibi is forced to abandon his speech - negotiations will resume towards their ultimate goal: the Iranian bomb and obamas legacy.
19. a Netanyahu victory
(02.22.15)
So thanks to Netanyahu accepting Congress invitation, and then enduring Obama's hissy fit, Obama is forced to at least pretend that he is negotiating for American interests.
