1. One can loath Vlad, but at the same time it's only logical,

that in light of Obama's capitulation as leader of world's leading Nation someone must seize the day. Why not Putin? From his perspective this is Russia's golden opportunity. The impotent EU/NATO are laughing stock of History! Go Vlad, go: until bitter destruction of the world as we know it.....
2. Russia wants to own Iran
C   (02.23.15)
russia knows that the only way to own iran is to make it the most powerful country in the middle east. oddly, obama thinks the same. the race is on.
3. Predictable Russian response to US and EU Ukraine
(02.23.15)
Russia now in the game of stymying Us and EU foreign policy in Ukraine and as a further challenge foreign policy in support of Syria and Iran their other backer
4. Iran is already producing upgraded versions

of the Russian S-400 system and the Russian BUK system. Russia was so restrictive about selling the systems to Iran and China, that Chinese and Iranian engineers acquired systems from non-Russian sources.then reverse engineered and vastly upgraded the original Russian designs. Now China and Iran are producing the systems for their own use. I can see Iran purchasing a small number from Russia then reverse engineering them and working with China to make an improved version. Regardless what Iran does, it is already extremely foolish to fly into Iranian air space without permission.
5. Bad Deal!

Maybe Russia should rethink supplying the Antey-2500 or any other system to protect a future rogue Nuclear Terrorist State. It may be good for business, but how would they feel if the West or worse, Chechen rebels got their hands on this system?
6. Don't Worry

Israel's scientists already have jammers which blind S-400 and Antey missiles to IDF jets. And now that Israel is buying US F35s which are stealth fighters, Iran might as well save their money on Russian missiles.
7. Can Be Defeated
DemocracyRules ,   Canada   (02.24.15)
Swarms of ground-hugging UAVs could defeat this system. Israel is a world-leader in UAV tech. Antey-2500 is circa 1980, and has long-range missiles to shoot down ICBMS and fighter aircraft. The big missiles look impressive, but the system lacks enough active missiles to take out small UAVs, that are cheap, stealthy, can change speed and direction quickly, and even land and wait if necessary. They are expendable, and if even a few get through they could destroy the Antey-2500 radar control systems. That would mean no more missile launches for weeks or months while Iran finds and buys more launch control systems from Russia. In the Bakkaa valley turkey shoot against Syria in 1982, Israel obliterated the Soviet-made missile defenses with the help of UAVs.

Lord God of Israel. Putin has shown with Ukraine that he is ripe for an education.
