Arabs in Israel enjoy all the rights and privileges of citizenship in Israel, but not all of the obligations. Arabs are exempt from military service and municipal taxes, for example. Arabs can live wherever they want in Israeli cities and towns. The same does not hold true for Israeli Jews who are banned from residing in Arab villages. If they want co-existence, shouldn't Israeli Arabs first learn how to co-exist? Bearing an equal share of the tax burden, military service obligation and free right for Jews to purchase homes in an Arab village if they so desire would be a splendid place to start. Right now, it's the Jews who are bearing the significant -- overwhelming -- obligation of co-existence. Shouldn't the Arabs contribute their fair share? Are they citizens of Israel, or not? If they prefer not to be citizens of Israel, with the attendant obligations, they are certainly free to leave at any time.
