If water had come from The Mediterranean Sea via canals and tunnels, pumping water would not have been necessesary. On the contrary electricity could have been produced in turbines inside the Judean mountains! In addition Israel would always have had full control of the power plant!

But then Israel wold be blamed for "lowering" the level of the Med sea !
