Iran is a country responsible for hundreds of thousands of sectarian deaths in recent years and for using Hamas and Hezbollah as armed proxies against Israel, while engaged in a blatant nuclear arms race. By depicting Iran as being nearly harmless, a country that is aiming for "a chance to host the Olympics" and of no comparison with other extremist groups like IS, these editors are attacking not just Netanyahu, but every victim, in the past and in the future, of Iran and its proxies, as well as every Israeli government that has ever warned against Iran's extremism. It is genuinely scary to me that elements of the left in Israel have become so desperate to win the approval of foreign left-wing leaders like Obama that they are willing to cover for Iran's aggression in front of an international audience in order to do so. After undermining Israel's stance against Iran like this, pretending that it is all some partisan falsehood from Netanyahu, what is the Israeli left going to do if it wins the election and Israel finds itself again the target of aggression from Iran or its proxies? Rhetoric like this is self-destructive and makes it impossible to defend Israel's stance against Iran later. This editorial is right about one thing, however, that there is no comparison between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic State: Iran is far worse. The Iranians have slaughtered many times more people for sectarian reasons than IS, and present a far greater military threat.

The Leftist writers are disrespectful of Congress and the Prime Minister of Israel. Congress is the greatest Legislative Body/Parliament in the world.
