1. Bet on there being tunnels into/under the North.
Based on Asian fighting techniques, perfected by the Koreans, Vietnamese, and Chinese and put to good use by the Arab fighters and Mexican drug organizations... I would bet you dollars to donuts the Hez is tunneled in under northern Israel right now. Israel controls the airspace, a weaker opponent necessarily goes underground. It was unsettling to me that the IDF was so caught off guard in the Gaza War summer '13. With such historic precedent and reams of information indicating the extent and complexity of Arab tunneling practices, particularly since the last Lebanon War, the Israelis should not have been shocked. The defensive techniques described in this story are fundamentally broken as they are stop-gap measures. The best defense, as famously promulgated by Israel in 1967, is a good offense. You guys should have CAP/sapper units all over Gaza and S. Lebanon living with the enemy, assassinating them onsite and taking down the tunnels at ingress, rather than the point of egress, which is what is happening now. Really unfortunate to see Israel in such a defensive posture. A few decades ago this country wrote the book on CT and preemptive action. Bring it back!
