1. More War Toys
Joe Mevorah ,   Lincoln, USA   (03.05.15)
Russia is a desperate broke whore. They will sell to anyone who has money. I can't blame the Egyptians for wanting this new war toy.
2. Egypt has other enemies.
Ian ,   Newcastle upon Tyne   (03.05.15)
As long as these armaments remain under control of an Egyptian government that adheres to the Israel-Egypt Peace Treaty, they are not a threat to Israel. For what it's worth,I believe the next big struggle for regional dominance has nothing to do with the failed Arab Spring,ISIS or Iran. It'll be between Egypt and Turkey. The regimes of both see themselves in the role of regional leader and resent the other's aspirations. THREE CHEERS FOR ISRAEL!!!
3. Aren't you thrilled we ceded Sinai?? NOT!
Chaim ,   Israel   (03.05.15)
Israel ceded the immense strategic, military and financial asset of the Sinai for mere paper. The total folly of this decision becomes more obvious every year. Every single Israeli retreat in Israeli history is an unmitigated disaster. How can any sane Israeli advocate more of this madness?
4. Another problem thanks to Netanyahu
Mark Jeffery Koch ,   Mount Laurel, NJ   (03.05.15)
Amazing how the posters are yet again blaming this on Obama and not on Putin. It is Putin that is arming the Syrians and Iranians, not Obama. By the way, doesn't Nethanyahu like to brag about his close relationship with Vladimir Putin? Guess Vladimir values that friendship so much that he has no problem selling Israel's neighbors weapons that pose a threat to Israel. It wasn't Obama who sold these weapons to Egypt and it's not Obama who is giving arms to Israel's neighbors that threaten Israel but the racists keep attacking Obama and falsely accusing him of being a Muslim despite the fact that he has done more for Israel than any other American President in history. He's given Israel every weapon it requested, protected Israel at the U.N., got tough sanctions on Iran that forced Iran to negotiate, and cooperation between America and Israel's military and intelligence agencies is at its highest point in history. I guess the fact that Obama publicly stated that the continued expropriation of land for settlements is illegal upsets the right wing but it is a position held by EVERY other country on this planet.
5. Rather than buying a few more F-35s ...
Raymond in DC ,   Washington, USA   (03.05.15)
... Israel should be procuring the same systems being bought by enemy nations, the purpose being of course to determine their capabilities and weaknesses, the better to defeat them.
6. Are We Sure Theses Won't Be Used AGAINST Israel?
emanon ,   USA   (03.05.15)

Are you under the impression that ANY vessel transiting the Canal does so for free? News to me.
8. The first deployment of long rsnge interceptor
John Robey ,   Austin, Texas   (03.05.15)
missiles in the Middle East...I thought Israel had such capability long ago.
9. The west (nato) has turned
arne ,   chicago usa   (03.05.15)
Russia into an enemy--Encircled it with misiles and forced it into a corner. Now Russia's an adversary--They don't like us and will do whatever it takes to hurt us--sell arms to our enemies and even our friends--We need friends more then ever before--too bad the people in Washington couldn't figure that out years ago.Now Iran"s getting or have got the bomb and who they tight with?---Russia
10. Iran already has the S-400
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (03.05.15)
Iran has been producing and deploying an S-400 clone for several years now. The S-400 is a huge improvement over the S-300. BTW Russia is so eager to sell S-300 because it has a lot of surplus systems since it is rapidly replacing all its S-300 systems with S-400 systems and early prototypes of the S-500 system. Israel should look for lots more S-300 systems around it.
11. Egypt is not a threat
Brod ,   USA   (03.06.15)
Egypt should not be seen as an enemy. In fact, Israel could count on Egypt as an ally against Islamist-Jihadist Muslim Brotherhood Terrorists.
12. don't trust this country anymore
h ,   h   (03.06.15)
13. We must decide very soon if we plan on living in the ME for
(03.06.15)
much longer.... If so, then someone must make a "difficult decision" and I don't mean "aggressive pursuit of peace & happiness". Israel must ensure that it is FEARED like plague and do it NOW!!!!
14. #13 - Please tell what group in History was the most feared
spyguy ,   seattle usa   (03.06.15)
If you actually review the last 10000 years of human history, you will quickly discover that each and every group that thought that creating enough "fear' in its neighbors would solve their problems, NO LONGER EXISTS. The only thing you will accomplish by trying to make your neighbors fear you, is to convince them to figure out a creative way to make that fear go away by making you go away permanently. It is 100% impossible for Israelis to live in the ME by force. Israel either learns to get along with its neighbors or its neighbors will get rid of the problem. If you think Israel will not end up the same as every other belligerent group in history, you are flat out delusional.
15. rise above that
Peter ,   Egypt   (03.06.15)
isnt it time we move forward and get over the fact that we were enemies? with how close our government's relationship is, we should be fighting our common enemy.
